Let me start off by saying I absolutely love Burney's croissants, esp the bavarian creme filled ones. Though, some of the fillings do taste very pre-made and artificial (ie. Strawberry, peach, apple). My biggest gripe is this: I ordered a decorated, 4 layer yellow cake for my daughter's birthday. The ordering process was way more complicated than it had to be. The girl at the counter had a difficult time understanding what I was asking for, even though it was a simple design (piped rosettes) and I showed a picture. Then there was question to whether or not it could even be done. I was told they had to contact the girl who decorates the cakes and find out, and someone would call me). It was about 10 am or so, and nobody called me back that day, or the next. I called at 11:45 am, and there was still not a definitive answer as to if it could be done. I got a call back about 20 minutes later saying yes it could be done for pickup the next day at 4:30 pm. Great. They also had me pre-pay the entire amount over the phone. My husband picked it up and I had him send me a picture. It looks fine enough from what I can tell, though the cake was touching the sides of the box in a couple of places. When I opened the box, the cake was slightly lopsided, and some of the rosettes were ruined from being in contact with the sides of the box. Luckily, I was adding a bunch of decorations so it wouldn't be noticeable really. Overall it looked okay. So finally we have cake later that evening.... Let me tell you, this has to be one of the absolute worst tasting cakes I've ever had. Ever. The "buttercream" frosting was slightly gritty, and tastes like it's made with shortening rather than butter. But the cake itself was the worst part, artifically yellow looking, a weird bitter-chemically taste that left a coating in your mouth. Walmart and Food Lion surpass this cake taste tenfold. Also, my "four layer" cake was actually only 3 layers, with the bottom layer being about 1/3 of a layer, and the top layer being the other 2/3. I called the next day to discuss my cake. I spoke with the decorator, who told me that they use frozen, pre-made yellow cake, and that it gets cut by management, then she assembles and frosts it. I told her I was upset that I only truly received 3 layers, that the cake tasted so bad, and that Burney's should probably use different cake.... (or you know, make their own... being a small bakery/dessert shop and all.... and on the Google description it even says "homemade cakes"). The girl herself even said the cake isn't good. I was not offered any remediation to this situation. I'm not sure why they even bother offering cakes if they're this terrible. I'm truly in disbelief and so disappointed. See photos of when my husband picked it up, after I added all the decorations, and once it was sliced. You can clearly tell it's lopsided and that there are not truly 4 layers.
I finally got to try it & it’s really good! The prices are amazingly affordable compared to other bakeries and the quality is great! I love that there is a little bit of everything there! The staff are friendly but the one I worked with didn’t know much about the menu or prices, maybe she was new.
Overall great place & I have to come back early enough to catch the cream cheese stuffed croissants. They were all sold out!!
Went there as soon as they opened up at 7 AM. Everything was delicious and affordable. The croissants were so rich that I could only eat a couple out of a half dozen box. Highly recommend!!
Went there on a whim and was absolutely amazed on what they had to offer.
Ended up getting the croissants (which they make similar to donuts) and instantly fell in love. There are so many different flavors that I’ll be coming back to try them all!
I was so excited to finally have a Burney’s that was close versus having to drive to the other locations. But will ABSOLUTELY never go back and will travel to other locations. The staff are absolutely rude and the girl who checked me out fatshamed me, yes I’m a chunky girl but that was so uncalled for. She asked me if I went to fit4life and that they were having a free session, and I should check it out.
Delicious, fresh baked goods! The croissants are everything! Staff is welcoming and pleasant. So glad Burney’s chose to open up in Cameron. I will be a repeat customer and I encourage everyone to go get your sweet tooth fix!
The staff were very professional and welcoming!!! When asked what was their personal favorite they gave me great choices!!! We will definitely be back!!!!
