When you first pull into the parking lot, the building itself may not impress you. (Luckily, as Mary Poppins would say, "A Cover Is Not the Book.")
The building may not impress you ... but believe me, the coffee sure will!!!
My wife has been seeing them on Instagram. Not only the postings from the business owner but also rave reviews from customers.
We have been wanting to try it for some time, but it's a little out of the way and it simply didn't work with our schedules.
Finally, the holiday week between Christmas and New Year's, we made it!
Was it worth the wait and the drive out to Selden?
Oh boy, was it ever!!!
The place is small, and the menu is simple. It is a coffee shop first, although they do offer muffins (cinnamon, blueberry, and chocolate chip) as well as "breakfast biscuits" (eggs, cheeses, veggies, and assorted breakfast meats stuffed into a homemade biscuit). Yum!
But like I said ... it's a coffee shop first! :-)
Freshly ground? Check!
Freshly brewed? Check!
Basic flavors? (cinnamon, vanilla, mocha) Heck no!!!
This is where things get interesting!
First, you select a size. They offer small (single shot) or large (double shot).
Next, you choose your flavor.
A few of the options include Rice Krispie Treats, Cinnamon Bun, Oatmeal Creme Pie, S'mores, Gingerbread Cookie, and Junior Mint.
Where do the flavors come from? That's the best part!
They do *not* use artificial flavors. They do *not* flavor the drink using syrup from a bottle.
Instead, they use something they call "cookie butter."
Put simply, the foundation of the flavor (real cinnamon bun filling, real gingerbread cookies, real Rice Krispie Treats, real Junior Mints) is "blended" into a smooth, rich, buttery substance which is refrigerated until it's time to make your beverage.
Then the coffee is ground and brewed and a heaping spoonful of "cookie butter" is added, giving the drink an amazingly authentic flavor and a richness that's truly unlike anything I have ever tried.
We tried the Rice Krispie Treat Latte and the Cinnamon Roll Latte. Both were outrageously good!!!
I also tried a cinnamon muffin. Baked fresh that morning, it was moist, loaded with cinnamon flavor, and just delicious!
As mentioned earlier, it isn't much to look at from the outside, but it has a very warm and cozy feeling on the inside.
The walls are adorned with photographs from a local photographer, artwork from several young children, and printouts of the rave reviews they have received on Google and Yelp.
They also have some comfy chairs and small "bar" with stools.
The drinks are amazing. The snacks are amazing. And, guess what... the people who work there couldn't be nicer! It was our first time there, but within minutes we were chatting like old friends.
I am giving COFFEE BOOTHS five stars ... only because Yelp won't let me give them six! :)
If you're in the area, drop in for a latte you'll never forget!
If you're not in the area, do what we did ... get in the car and drive! It's absolutely worth the trip!
Cheers!

By far one of my favorite coffee shops. They are so kind, welcoming and friendly. I have tried a few different flavors and the coffee never disappoints.

This place is a really cute little mom and pop coffee spot. They have a bunch of variety in flavors and are always very pleasant. My favorite is the Nutella latte it's a must try.

This was my Wife & I first time here. The place is very nice, cool staff. The drinks were decent. Feel like there was way too much sugar because we both had a bad crash an hour or so afterwards.

Great coffee. So many unique latte flavors. The mocha coffee was so good. Staff was friendly and helpful. Cozy little environment. Be aware it is cash only.

Great place! They have fresh brewed iced teas, different kids of coffee, and a couple homemade snacks! The best thing was that the owners were very nice! Definitely going back to this place.

This place breathes life back into the idea of a small town family business. They strive to offer you the true sense of feeling welcomed with the warmth as if you're sitting in their kitchen. Their incredible hospitality is only matched by the service that they bring to you while serving a hand pick selection of mouth watering coffees & delights to satisfy your palette. Remember to take a peek at the wonderful selection of art displayed for your enjoyment and, if your're interested, I think they are available for sale. This is a hidden treasure nestled in the corner of Rt25 & New Ln under the trees.

This is my go to coffee shop for when I'm in the area for school and/or work during the week! The area only has starbucks (gross) and dunkin donuts (even more gross).
Ronnie and his wife are so down to earth. Really knowledgeable and passionate about their business. Great barista. Super homey-type environment filled with local artists work, and you can tell everyone who goes there are easily regulars and all treated as close friends on a first name basis!
Also, he makes all his own food/baked goods as well as "syrups" (I say that in quotes because they are nothing close to a typical artificial "syrup" or sweetener of any sort)
This place is the bomb. <3
