Great little coffee shop that actually makes great coffee, something hard to find in the city! I had breakfast here after dropping someone off at JFK (10mins away), and their portions are nice and large as well!
If I could put 0 stars I would. I was driving by with my husband and I really wanted some macaroons so I stopped by and bought two of each kind. First of all, they are TINY. They were so old I couldn’t bite through them. They fell apart the second you touched them. They where empty on the inside. It was just horrific. Never goIng back. If that’s how the macaroons where, I can imagine how old the rest of the food is.
Their house blends like no other. I'm that type that like extraordinary or something different. The list seems endless with things like Trinidad (homestyle) Orange juice, Trinidad Fruit punch, Hot apple cider (Seasonal in Fall), blends of coffee from Guatemala, Haiti, Trinidad, Homemade Southern Iced Tea, etc. They also carry fresh baked pastries, cakes, cookies and snacks from Jodi Bakes. The Caramel Frappe is my favorite cold drink, you must try it. It's a Christian based and owned cafe. Proceeds go toward missions worldwide, from providing clean drinking water to giving a child a toy. I also believe that you can rent the space to host a small event there as well . The atmosphere and decor stands out in that area. There's no local café that I can compare Compass Café too. This is my go to coffee shop, you gotta stop by and see for yourself.
The coffee is delicious, the macarons are great, the service is so welcoming and nice and the atmosphere is just wonderful! Nice greetings from Germany!
