Starbucks is right down the road but you owe it to yourself to pass them by and check out this great little local shop. The owner and staff are very nice people and the coffee and baked goods are terrific. Of course if you like putting more money in the pockets of greedy mega businesses, go to Starbucks. If you just want a great cup of coffee and delicious baked goods in a quaint little local owned shop, check out the Village Grind. You won't regret it.

Great Oat Lattes, Drip, Pastries and Bagels.
Staff are respectful even delightful.
Great spot to sip a coffee, remote work while waiting for taxi, bus, or friend.

Our favorite coffee house in New Paltz closed down a while back and thank the Lord we've found The Village Grind! First time there we tried their iced lattes and dirty chai and they were fantastic. Next visit we also tried their breakfast sandwiches and they were just super delicious. Will be returning every time we come back to town.

Ambiance is great for being an adjoining part of a old, but still operating bus station. A table or two inside and the same outside, so mostly just a take-out place, but give it a try. It's well worth it.

-update 2022/04/16: renovated since our last visit, simpler menu. Somewhat disappointed in that, but still delicious food and drink.

Saw this place was close by and I decided to take a look. Came in to cool off a bit and got an ice mocha and a strawberry creamcheese croissant. Before I ordered staff cracked jokes and was super friendly. Helped break the tension I usually get when ordering at a place I've never been to before. Sat down for a good half hour enjoying my break. Probably the best iced mocha I've had in the New Paltz area, same with the pastry. Definitely am looking forward to coming to this place the next time I'm in the area. :)

New paltz is a Beautiful town where Suny university is. Students area, very nice to visit. Coffee shops and restaurants start opening after 10 am, parking is available but not free

Consistently the best breakfast burrito in New Paltz. The coffee is fresh and brewed perfectly. Highly recommended. The cafe is always clean and looks spotless. The owners obviously has professional food experience and knows how to run a quality cafe. Their iced coffee is amazing --- they even use ice cubes of brewed coffee instead of water so your coffee doesn't get watered down. This easily could become your daily spot to grab a quick bite and coffee. You can get a large coffee and a breakfast burrito for less than $10 --- a great value for the quality of the food and service. Support a locally owned business and give them a try!

The coffee is awesome. Best iced almond milk latte I have ever had. Had the breakfast sandwich with an egg and house-made hot sauce on a croissant. Very, very good and reasonably priced.

My wife and I spent a few days in New Paltz earlier this month and after finding our way to the Village Grind for breakfast the first morning, we didn't see a need to look further the next couple of days. The owners are friendly, the coffee is hot and the food is great. They bake their pastries in-house and I can speak to the croissants--they're fantastic.

Truly a fantastic little coffee shop. My friend and I stopped in while we were visiting and they whipped up the most delicious breakfast wrap I can remember ever eating. Staff was really friendly and fun. Seems like they have a crowd of good humored regulars. Would come here all the time if I lived in the area.

So much more than you'd expect. Such a sweet little establishment.
