Nice place food is good local food and crafts yet almost every-time I’ve been customer service is rude and grumpy, not sure why but makes me stop by less often.
Re: response to John, i sont know how to respond privately so…. I’m unsure if the person is the same person multiple times, i actually think it might have been a couple different people over the course of the last two years, which makes me wonder if it is management or job dissatisfaction, or a better filter for the grumps. I stop in on my way back and forth from Deposit to the city and I grew up in a small town so I understand tourist and local interactions and have been on both sides of the counter. The place is an awesome idea, although sometimes expensive, for locals. Yet despite that, having a kinder homelike interaction would go even farther than price.

We had a strange and mixed experience here. Came in for coffee and that was what was super disappointing. The service was exceptionally slow. My iced cap was like water with milk and they didn't froth it until I asked them to and then, that was after the milk was already in. Our other coffee order was a cold brew and the coffee wasn't diluted with any water. Neither were drinkable. Also asked for a bag of kettle corn and was given one by a staff member, unfortunately I didn't read the label in full as it began with ingredients "corn, sugar.." so okay.. that's kettle corn. As it turned out it was white cheddar mixed with kettle corn? It was not palatable and the bag was thrown out. Got to Dunkin in Liberty within fifteen minutes and was much more satisfied with the iced capp there. I believe another person in our group had a sandwich here on Friday and was very happy with it. The gluten free donuts were very good and the staff was very kind so that is where the two stars were earned.

Great little cafe and store. We stopped in on our way to the Hudson Valley and had delightful local coffee and breakfast sandwiches. Very friendly staff. Great little find!

I really want to love this place. It's super cute and the market itself is awesome. The cafe part was Meh. The smoked trout sandwich was so a little too simple. It lacked depth and cohesive flavors. The beef and barley soup was good. My cider was good but in the sample they gave me, and the glass they poured, there was flaky black particulates floating around. I think they need to clean their draft lines. Gross.

Visited recently while on vacation. Being from out of town, I was not aware people still live under such strict COVID protocols, and I didn’t have a mask on me when entering to obtain the food ordered and pre-paid for online. I was scolded almost immediately by a young employee. When I asked if they could lend me one, they said they could not. The food had to be carried outside to me. Meanwhile, there was a table of unmasked patrons dining inside. Very confusing rules, and overall poor experience with the staff. The food was good, but not worth the hassle. It’s a shame because the inside looked nice and I would have liked to browse!

We were on our way to ski and wanted to get a quick bite. There were two cashier's cashier's taking orders, both with long lines. When we made the order and wanted to find a seat to sit down, we found there was no seat at all with people standing and waiting, a couple with a toddler. I ordered soup and my husband ordered a simple sandwich. They kept taking orders when there's no stuff cleaning table or providing enough services to maintain the place. It took almost an hour for the food to be ready. My husband waited at the counter to fetch the food.
This is my first review and I hope the owner can do something about the poor management of the place. The food is good. It's a shame to run it the way it's.

We’ve been here quite a few times and every time the service has been slow and inept. I’ve also never ordered something that has come out correctly. Forgetting a side of bacon, not putting the smoked salmon on the avocado toast. It’s painful and the staff has no concept of customer service. Let’s be real, it’s not an off day, it’s a lack of training for the staff and no oversight from management. The food is good though, if you don’t starve to death before it arrives.

We ordered 2 hot drinks roughly $12 and they do not use thermometers here, and gave us lukewarm drinks, then with attitude and no time to be civil they exasperatedly & reluctantly re-steamed our drinks for us till they were literally scalding hot. As in ruined burned, disgusting. Undrinkable for 20 minutes … burnt ruined.
By the way steel thermometers cost $4 & clip right onto the steaming pitcher. A easy standard temp for all hot drinks is 165F ……and if someone wants warm only you can do 145-155
Next we got our “Avocado Toast” Aka. Raw untoasted cold bread (zero exaggeration) after waiting for 25-30 minutes. Wet arugala balled up on raw bread.. no dressing… no oil butter or anything. Perfectly sliced avocado. It was just raw bread wet arugula avocado & egg.
No seasoning and weird. & $13
All this was $45 with our attempted modifiers and no one really had any desire to do more than mumble or stare at us like we were annoying for speaking & even better exasperated eye contact with other employees to express contempt for literally having to interact at a minimum beyond a transaction with people coming for a meal. Total annoyance to answer any menu or allergy questions (?) and everyone was behaving like they were in times square and couldn’t believe they had to pause to speak to us, mildly engage in conversation or give information about the menu.
I find this place to be full of disengaged rude employees, who gave us some seriously questionable things of poor quality, wasted our time - and acted weird about it. They just wanted to charge it - and sell it … like “deal with it; take what you get - and don’t talk to us.”
It was actually supposed to be a special occasion for my friend that I brought here and I ended up apologizing to her that I brought her here. ….She liked her fish dip however. Yay.
I dont know why; but the staff here are unhelpful and moody in addition to unprofessional at their coffee & food crafting beyond the superficial as in presentation at eye level. it’s a shame because there are some nice elements. but not that justify the unwilling communication of the staff, & pricing of cafe items at present.
Its pretty normal to act semi gracious when you give people room temperature drinks and maybe check to see if they are better if you just steamed them to death. She just shoved them at us and when i asked a question she just huffed and said “i remade them!” Okay.
The manager wanted my full review so I finished it for you. I promise this was our experience.

Nice store, but the young lady serving customers at cafe was being rude and condescending to every customer, including angrily telling an old lady they were out of egg salad. She wasn’t even correct about that, as two minutes later someone else’s egg salad order came out. She was rude to so many different customers and just mean, putting everyone in a bad mood. Visited the store the afternoon of November 30.

The espresso, particularly the cortado, is delicious. A lot of places do not get the proportions correct but this place does. Great specialty market, soups and sandwiches too.
