The ice cream is wonderful. It's actually yummy. I went to a place in Santa Fe that had great reviews, tried three different ice creams and each was really bad. That experience hurt my confidence in trusting reviews, but Mint Chip is so good.
The mint chip and coconut is delicious. The lemon poppy was good, but not for an entire two scoops for me. The rose was surprisingly not bad. The lavender honey was also good, but again wouldn't get more than a scoop like the lemon.
It was ok but not a good value for $7. The ice cream was gritty and crystallized. Either it didn’t freeze properly or had partially melted and refroze. Flavor was ok but nothing to write home about. The waffle cone was greasy and brittle. I think it should have a bit of a chew to it. But that’s subjective of course. A commercially produced ice cream like Hershey would have been better honestly.
I’ve been coming to the Mint Chip for years since it was a food truck in Alaska. The best ice cream I’ve ever had. My favorites are the Rose and Toasted Coconut. The owner is an inspiration, always so kind and welcoming.
Creamy, flavorful ice cream + delicious crispy waffle cones, all made on site. We had Toasted Coconut, & Wild Rose; both were excellent! We'll return until we've tried everything!
Best ice cream and cone we have ever had! I had a single scoop of toasted coconut and my daughter had a single scoop of lemon poppy seed. When given the choice between cup and cone, I generally choose cup. However, because they make their ice cream and cones from scratch I decided to give it a try and I’m so glad I did. The cone is thin, crispy, and reminds me of vanilla wafers. We will be coming back every time we visit Silver City! (I wish I had a picture to add, but we ate them too quickly.)
This is literally some of the best ice cream I have ever had. It is very flavorful and doesnt melt quickly. Less ice and more cream I believe. The cones are light but crunchy and delicious. I often feel obligated to finish ice cream cones, but not this one. Good to the last bite. Local and handmade.
Amazing handmade ice cream! I loved the coconut kumquat ice lolly and will come back for more now that summer has returned. The mother-daughter team that runs this shop are as sweet as a banana split with sprinkles and praline and chocolate fudge and whipped cream and cherries on top. Worth a visit if you are in Silver City!

Tasty! $3.75 for a good sized scoop. They also have some little odds and ends in the shop. And lord of seating around. Worth a visit!

Had their fried chicken with grits and black eyed peas salad. Was delicious! I'll definitely have to try the shrimp and grits for Sunday brunch!
