Jorge's Cafe

It's pretty good Mexican, we nearly always eat here when we come to town. Drinks are good as well, in the Downs area of town, if you have survived a visit to the local Walmart, you deserve to eat here.

Excellent variety of plates. Good is authentic Mexican as you will be able to tell from the tasty salsa.

Favorite place to eat out in Ruidoso!! I always order way more than I can eat, so I can bring leftovers home!

This is the definition of a hole in the wall establishment. A townie told us this was his favorite Mexican place in the area so we decided to try it and were not disappointed. Jorge’s was extremely busy, but we still were sat and waited on in a very timely manner. Please, even if you don’t like chile relleno, try the crispy chile relleno. It’s hands down the best thing on the menu. I can’t wait to return to Ruidoso just to eat at Jorge’s again

Corn tortillas were mildly soggy. Carne Asada was almost lukewarm, not even close to hot. I half assumed they gave me a canceled Drive-Thru order. Refried beans had a consistency like oatmeal.

Salsa was good, though. And it was inexpensive.

Very good food, service was good they were very busy. I would definitely go back again next time I'm in town!

We got enchiladas and Chile Relleno with green sauce. Not green and not very flavorful
But the only Mexican restaurant with fair quality food

The chile rellenos were the best we’ve had (made with green chiles vs poblanos). The enchiladas with green chile were excellent, as well. We went back hoping for another great lunch before we left town, but the line was out the door at 11:30 am on a Sunday, so get there early.

I'm from out state and wanted some good tex mex and stumbled apon this place.. its a small Mexican joint in town food was great, service was great (took a bit for the food to come out but it was still amazing)

Heads up! The margaritas are made with wine, not tequila. Not the same thing but they won’t tell you unless you ask. False advertising! The food is good but both red and green sauce is mild today. Service was good.
