The two options for food inside LANL are Hot Rocks which seems to be independent, and Ottowi which is ran by Aramark. Aramark's quality seems dependent on location. That sets the bar pretty low, but Hot Rocks doesn't seem to aim any higher than Aramark. Consider using salt and pepper! The food comes with a taste as if the cooks have no concept of what salt, pepper, or really any seasoning whatsoever is! I found that the very few things that can be cooked decently --not great, but okay, are that involving steak. I started to realize that the cooks are my impression of what a guy without any culinary training would cook like. Beyond the basics the stereotypical man without a culinary background can do, don't expect any flavor or skill behind the food.

Good for casual lab meetings. It's comfortable enough to dine alone if you must

Good food. The green chili is really freaking spicy! I had to take most of mine off in order to eat my burrito. Good food though

Horrible coffee service today. She was backed up and slow, then they told me someone else took my drink. Really? An apology wasn't good enough.

Breakfasts burritos are amazing. Today I had a burger with green chile. Hot rocks knows how to do it.

Anytime I have had coffee, espresso, or an americano it's been really good. The salad I tried was okay.

Great food and good service. Feels like a student hang out. Casual and clean.

They need much better instructions for folks coming in from out of town for how to find them. Was not expecting to have to pass through security gates.
