Excellent assortment of breads and pastries for a small town. They are a bit expensive, but the products are homemade and of high quality. The owners have vast experience. The staff is overwhelmingly positive.

Stopped on a whim, and so glad I did! Amazing coffee and baked goods. Wasn’t even hungry but couldn’t pass up the apple cinnamon scone. Totally recommend. Not a lot of parking but trust me the short walk is totally worth it. Would insert a picture but already devoured everything
Great job blue loon team!!

The Cinnamon Raisin bread is the best I've ever tasted in my short 49 years on earth. For that they get a five. And for 6$ a loaf. Could potentially be the best deal in NH.
Now the Cafe.
The impression once u get there is of a comfortable village Cafe. Unfortunately we were not able to enjoy this due to a non seating policy because of...covid. so take out only. Oh well let's make the best of it.
The pleasant woman who was very engaged with our large order informed us that due to the "increase" in cases in New London, our plan to enjoy our breakfast in this comfortable setting was a no can do.
Everyone who walked in seemed to already have accepted this, were heavily masked up and behaved as if a plague was striking down New Londoners in a biblical fashion, but not enough fear to stay isolated and make their own coffee and toast.
Perhaps motto of NH is Live Free or Die has lost its zest. Coming from NY where the Covid concern is confined to liberal centers of enlightenment only, my wife and I expected a little more independence and new England toughness, it being the granite state. We were dismayed by not disappointed, human behavior being what it is.
The irony is I stopped at a gas station a mile down the road, no masks. Seemed pretty normal. Apparently the customers and staff at Irving gas station have not been made aware of covid laying waste to New London.
I asked the attendant about the recent uptick in cases and the mask policy and she looked at me as if she lived in rural NY. What uptick? I asked her if this station was in New London, she said it was. Then I told her we came from the Blue Loon bakery and that we were told there is a elevated concern with all the covid cases in New London. She just shrugged.
Is this a tale of two villages? Contrast makes for good art and an interesting life.
Back to the Cafe. The pastries were presented well, and the breakfast sandwiches sounded great.
My wife and 17yo were a tad bit disappointed with the avocado toast., the toast was dry and the plentiful and fresh avocado didn't compliment it well. My sandwich actually was sharp to eat, toasted too much and contained bacon not the ham I ordered which didn't help with the dryness. Oh well it was edible and my kids order was messed up a bit. They gave me a delicious pastry. For our troubles, unexpected.
I think our unmasked family created such nervousness and panic that the kitchen staff became a little unglued, thus the JV mistakes.
But we had our daily bread and were grateful for the high quality ingredients that would nourish us an the way home to the Empire state.
So thank you BLB, especially for the contrast and Raisin bread!

Excellent, freshly-baked pastries, breads, and more. Probably the best sticky buns, danishes, and croissants I've had in the area. The sourdough loaf was fresh from the oven and was perfect. Coffee is available, and a small seating area as well as a cozy couch or two up front. I haven't been for lunch yet, but I can only imagine how good their sandwiches are on this bread. Highly recommended for breakfast.

We met for coffee today and I loved it! There are plenty of little nooks to give you privacy and seating outside. I bought bread for dinner tonight and it was fresh and soft. The coffee was very hot and I ordered strong brew black. My friend ordered tea and a flour and sugar free snack. I ordered a blueberry muffin and it was delicious!

The food and bakery items here are VERY high quality. I had a flavorful green salad with various nuts, apples and cheese. My husband had a tasty grilled cheese and tomato soup. The pumpkin break is moist and flavorful. We will be back, love this spot!

I can't say enough good things about this place. AMAZING pastries, delicious coffee, beautiful atmosphere and everyone is so friendly. If you get the chance/if they have them, try the rye and sea salt brownies - they. are. SO GOOD. Also, best poppy seed muffin I have ever had, hands down. But really you can't go wrong with whatever you order. This is a place not to miss if you're in New London!

A wonderful bakery with croissants, bread, fresh salads, coffee and tea. Very friendly service. Just needs an espresso machine to make it perfect

Great pastries, breads, sandwiches and coffee. A great spot to grab a quick bite on the way to work, with plenty of comfy nooks and crannies to read a book in or use a laptop if your in less of a hury. They also carry local cheeses and drinks, and they offer a bread program where you can get a loaf of bread a week (not sure about the details, or if it's still active but sounded good!). Very friendly and efficient staff and decent prices. 10 out of 10!
