Founders Coffee

Heard about this gem on instagram, and knew I had to try the coffee flight. Was definitely impressed by this coffee shop. Very relaxed scene, staff are very nice, and the coffee is even better. Will leave you wanting to come back for more.

I don't drink much coffee but the seasonal flight was just right n my cup o joes, each one was taste. But was a little disappointed in the toast flight other than the Nutella and strawberry that one hard to mess up.

I don’t think I’ll be back. They tried to make their drinks too complicated. It sounded better on paper than drinking it.

DRINKS: coffee flight - there were 4 of us with 4 flights. We all had very mix reviews…
1. Tiramisu Latte (latte topped with espresso foam): 2nd favorite. It didn’t taste anything like tiramisu but it was decent tasting coffee.
2. Spring showers (lavender latte topped with purple lavender whip and raindrop sprinkles): ughhhh I hate lavender. I will say this was a lot more mild lavender taste than other bake goods/ice cream/coffee. The bulk of the soap flavor was in the whipped cream so if you can get past it or use a spoon to scrap it off, than you’re good lol
3. Dirty scotch (butterscotch cold brew with a chocolate butterscotch candy rim): 3rd choice but pretty much this was a water down cold brew that lack flavor.
4. Butterfly latte (butterfly pea tea latte with vanilla and coconut): oddly my favorite of all 4 drinks. The tea wasn’t very strong, no vanilla, and light coconut flavor. Two of our flight had a foam on top and two didn’t. We knew it was ended up being two different barista making it but no consistency in he presentation.

RESTAURANT/MENU:
I came to Founder’s coffee because I saw a photo of their coffee flight on IG. Everything sounded really good (yes, even the lavender that I don’t ever like). They have a pretty good menu of different drinks and coffee shop types food (breakfast sandwiches, different hipster toast, baked goods, etc.)

The coffee shop is a lot bigger than it appears from the outside. Small round tables, some counter tables, large tall table in the middle, and a couple of couches for a lounge area. It’s very clean and streamline in their decor.

SERVICE:
I don’t know how I should rate them… everyone was friendly but like typical coffee shop friendly. When I first arrive, there was about 3 parties in front of me to order with not cashier around. It was slightly confusing because they have a similar set up where pick up order was close to the cashier. I actually thought everyone was just standing around waiting for their order.

Just ok coffee, poor service and Walmart level pastries. After reading reviews, most of which complained about the service, I wondered, how bad a service can be if I get a cup of black coffee to go? It’s bad. Instead of pouring me a coffee after I paid (which is true in every single coffee shop I have been), I was given a waiting number. I got my coffee about 10 minutes later (no one bothered to pour a cup of coffee). Unfortunately, coffee wasn’t great either - just so so coffee, which tasted watered down (I have had a lot of great coffee before :) And as for pastries - even though it was breakfast time, I wasn’t interested in grocery store level pastry - pale, chewy looking croissants and bland looking coffee cake. I’m overall surprised that owners have learned nothing from the feedback of the customers - as reviews about poor service are many.

The most important thing is that the coffee is on point. I come in occasionally for their auto drip dark roast, black, and it's always good; oily, nutty, and a hint of fruit/berry. The temp is as hot as you want and sippable immediately. I've purchased a couple bags of whole beans, but I don't remember the price, I just know I enjoyed brewing pour-overs and cold brews.

The seating area is open and not cluttered, with a high ceiling. I haven't tried the food yet as I'm always on-the-go when I'm in the area. The staff is constantly moving in there, but always friendly. This place is definitely a step up from your major corporate coffee chain, and worth a shot if you're considering breaking away.

My wife and I had 3 lattes : the lavender white chocolate latte and hazelnut latte with coconut milk and white mocha latte with regular milk . They were all amazing and very tasty, not to bitter , but not to sweet either, perfectly balanced flavor !
We didn’t try any food this time , but definitely we will next time. Everything looked so delicious.
I will definitely recommend this coffee shop and will come here again!

Really great customer service, great tasting coffee and delicious treats. Plenty of room for working on computer, or studying.

My first time coming here and the vibe looked amazing until my ordered was never brought out after 25 minutes of waiting on only 3 to-go drinks. I had to get a refund after waiting so long. The reason I was given my order was never made was “they are all over the place making orders randomly” so basically whatever they want to make 1st not in order. I wasted almost 30 minutes of my morning yesterday and I wish I would of had my drinks.

The staff is so rude, unprofessional and slow. They also have you wait 20-30 minutes for your coffee even if you’re the only one there. They don’t even have the audacity to apologize they just say “my bad”. The coffee is good but the staff is trash.

The first 2 times they took 20-30 minutes to make my coffee. I went a third time but I called ahead of time so it would be faster or so I thought. Well they were still slow but this time they gave me the wrong order and they said it was correct. They put matcha in my iced mocha but they said they didn’t and then finally said okay we’ll fix it. (This is the only thing I get so I know if it tastes off or wrong lol) It was fixed but wow we had to wait another 10 minutes and had to argue about it. (You would think they would make it a priority because they messed up but nope)

If you go here know the coffee will be good, the iced mocha is my favorite. However make sure you have all the patience in the world because it takes 20-30 minutes to get your order and there is a possibility they might mess up and have to remake it. Be ready to argue and plead your case as well because the staff has issues taking any accountability.
