Grandma Jo's

When I travel I try to stay away from franchise businesses and buy local. This is a solid old-fashioned Cafe with a full menu. Breakfast skillets, omelettes or a la carte. Waffles or pancakes, they got it. It's where the locals come in to start their day. Breakfast was great.

As others have pointed out, this is a diner for locals. But I don't recommend it if you're traveling through.

I came in for breakfast, and the closest thing to an acknowledgement of my presence was a quick, bitter facial expression. I waited for anyone to acknowledge my presence, but it was an uphill battle. It struck me as an unwelcome attitude towards someone who clearly wasn't a local resident (perhaps exasperated by the fact that I entered with a face mask on, as I'm visiting in the middle of the deadly pandemic, and was the only person in the business doing so).

The staff continued to find any other task they could do other than acknowledging my presence. It was clear I was unwelcome. They went out of their way to show me as much.

If that type of experience would bother you, I don't recommend visiting this Grandma Jo's.

Waitress was a sweetheart, great sense of humor. I had the French dip, everything about it was amazing. The beef is fresh and not chewy. Au Ju had very great flavor and the Dutch Apple pie is out of this world. Will stop again when we are traveling through!!!

They took my last review down, so I am retyping it to warn others about the rudeness of the owner, and I sit at a table for over a half hour and no one person came to my table. When I got up to leave the owner/server asked why I was leaving, and I told I didn't appreciate being there for so long and not even given a menu, owner just gave me a dirty look, and stomped off.

Great Breakfast !!!
Great service, friendly people who go out of their way to get exactly what you want.
Definitely coming back again, great food that's reasonably priced.

Closes 2pm. But,nowhere better for breakfast and lunch...

Nice place, good atmosphere, friendly and helpful owner/waiter. I would go back again if I wad in the area and wanted food that was better than fat food.
She also had am amazing coffee shop recommendation that saved my day, so I'm very glad I ate here.
