One evening my wife and I were having to return a piece of equipment to Rick's Rentals in Libby, Montana. We live in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, and as we had gotten a late start, we were both really hungry. I had called ahead to The Silver Spur to see if they were going to be open until 9 as Google said they would, but instead they were closing at 8. We hustled on over to Troy, Montana and stopped at the Silver Spur. I'm really glad we did!
We were greeted at the door by a very enthusiastic waitress who took great care of us the entire evening. She had left the salad bar set up so that we could enjoy it. She promptly brought us fresh cool water in a pitcher and we settled in for a great meal.
I had a steak, which was delicious! Because I am watching my carbs I chose to have steamed veggies with it and they were fresh and tasty. I also had a salad with my dinner, and the salad bar was really nice. The salad was fresh, and there were dozens of toppings to put with it. The salad dressings were homemade and quite tasty as well.
My wife had shrimp. They were crisp and plenty of them. She also had steamed veggies and some salad.
The atmosphere is what you would expect for a mountain town. There were animal heads on the wall and it is cozy. Everything was clean and well-kept. The waitress was working through her close up for the evening, but she still gave us great service and was very friendly.
When the bill came I was surprised that it was as reasonable as it was. All in all, we had a great dining experience in Troy, Montana, and I would highly recommend people stopping and eating there, even as a destination in itself.
There is a bar attached to the restaurant, and it was full of patrons. They were watching television and sipping adult beverages. The bar was clean and well-appointed, and the bartender friendly. The restrooms were clean, even at the end of the day.
I recommend The Silver Spur!

I would have given a 5 except for the "almost" full table service & I really wanted prime rib which is only served one day of the week.
The burger, BLT & cole slaw were good. The price was also good.

Had breakfast 4 mornings during stay at Troy and was very pleased every time. Atmosphere is fabulous. Lots of cool pictures and decorations. A fun restaurant, bar and casino although we can only attest for the restaurant. Reasonably priced.

Troy maybe small town but this Resturant brings it to a huge city standard. Food is great! Waitress staff is minimum manned for the number of people in restraunt at times so can be slow to get to you. If your patient and love good food I would recommend it.

Filling and Good! From the outside it looks like a bumpkin restaurant, but it is very charming on the inside (restaurant area). I had the Rueben and home made french fries... GREAT! It was a big proportion which was nice after hiking all day! Low prices in comparison to bigger towns.
