The location previously an antique store turned Cafe lends perfect to the atmosphere. Jesse's breakfasts, soups and sandwiches are awesome, and Jamie is always serving them with a smile!
I was so excited to learn about the new diner at the old Mercantile in Fortine! I bought property 20 years ago down Meadow Creek and I'm finally getting to make the move. I've stopped in to the Cafe 3 times now. The first 2 times it was quiet and I had a really amazing BLT to go and several baked goods to take to my co-workers. The second time, I got a milk shake that was tasty. Today I had to come up to Eureka for business, and I didn't get anything in Eureka because I wanted to patronize the new diner in Fortine. It was 11:30 and there were about 8-10 people seated in the diner and a couple fellows came in behind me. I recently had to stop eating gluten because I found out I'm allergic to wheat, so I asked if they possibly had gf bread and gal at the counter rolled her eyes and the gal cooking said you can bring it in if you want. Ok, no worries, lots of places don't have. I ordered scrambed eggs with veggies, cheese and sausage to go. Hold the hash browns and toast. She told me it would be 45 minutes to get a to go order of scrambed eggs. I realize it's a small place, but this seemed a very long time for cheesy scrambed eggs and some sausage. I got in the car and went to On the Fly cafe on the highway. I was greeted with a smile and how can I help you? I got my cheesey scrambled eggs and sausage in about 10 minutes and there were about 5 other people waiting for food before. Poor customer service and a snarky attitude, doesn't really make me want to return. π Bummer. π
They have really good cinnamon rolls and their breakfast burritos are packed full and delicious! They fit right in my snowmobile muffpot! Super friendly people, I will definitely be returning.

Stopped in for a cinnamon roll. It was so good I had a milkshake too. After that, I decided to have breakfast. I highly recommend "Bushman".

Just had one of their giant breakfast burritos, really good, really hot and fresh , and itβs big enough for 2, highly recommended. Good job!

Never show up an hour before closing. They don't serve the menu. Only what's left for cold sandwiches.
