Needed to go to the bathroom while walking the square.
"Is there a bathroom I can use?"
"Yes for paying customers only."
Bought the cheapest thing I could find on the menu that looked enjoyable labelled 1 dollar so I could use the bathroom.
"That'll be 2-and-something dollars."
Turns out that "alt milk" is actually an up-charge to another base price.
Got the coconut milk.
Went to the bathroom. Good bathroom.
Came back out to drink the milk.
Really bitter coconut milk, had vastly superior sweet blue coconut milk at the farmer's market for a flat $5 last week.

Would have instead bought something more expensive as a meal after using the bathroom had they just pointed me onward no questions asked. Would have been okay to ignore these issues if the milk at least tasted good.

Maybe a standard go-in-and-eat experience is better, but this was my only interaction in recent memory. Not inclined to go back.

Update! Not disgruntled! People deserve to know where their money is going and considering you can't delete reviews, I'd report it too! Nothing I said is inaccurate, just ask at least ten of the former employees!
If I could give zero stars I would. The owners of this place don't care about their staff or the quality of their products. Just their appearance. They laid their staff off with 3 days notice and then shut down for 4 months and strung them along. They leave 5 star reviews on their own businesses that they don't care about and have multiple legal cases against them. If you wanna support a good local coffee shop in Warrensburg go to Java Junction. They've been a staple for 25 years and deserve your business much more than these out of touch people.

I'm not sure if I went on a bad day or what but the coffee was not good. My iced latte taste awful. It was like a cup of coffee watered down with milk. There were espresso/coffee grounds at the bottom of my cup. 3/5 because it's a nice vibe inside and the pastries looked great.

Coffees pretty good, atmosphere is great, and friendly staff....tried to order a waffle breakfast sandwich, was outta waffles mix, dang it.
So I went with smoked chicken on what I thought was a breakfast sandwich, but got only chicken and cheese on a soggy croissant...with cold chicken in the center.

Wouldn't say a bad spot, as the food and coffee taste great!
Could work on the quality of service(correct order verification, and actually hot food all the way through)

Will visit again, when back in MO, to try again!

Good food, the drink specials are super creative and good. Chill vibes. The only gripe is the amount of flys in the place. I wish I could've sat and enjoyed my coffee without swatting away a fly every 10 seconds.

Absolutely amazing place, from the staff to everything they serve is phenomenal but my favorite is the chicken salad, you cannot get a better chicken salad sandwich anywhere. Like my kiddo says, Dad can we have this every night for dinner LOL 10 out of 10 would recommend.

This is a lovely coffeehouse inside and out. I got a brown sugar latte which was delicious but did take quite a while to receive after ordering, and we were the only customers at the time. They did end up giving us free drink coupons for next time but I live in KC so not sure those will get used.
Also got an egg biscuit sandwich with bacon - which unfortunately I would not recommend. The outside was really hot and the inner egg was cold. It was basically a microwaved sandwich.

All in all I would go back for the coffee for sure. Also there is an adorable little shop across the street to browse while you are drinking your coffee!

This placed has been my go-to for many years! As a Warrensburg native, It breaks my heart to be leaving a negative review for such a well loved downtown Warrensburg gem. However, the hours of operation have been significantly reduced. Now they close every day at 2pm. I’ve just gotten off work and walked up to find the lights turned off and door locked! I wondered if it was a holiday until I looked online! This means that my afternoons/evenings at one of my favorite places in town are a thing of the past. Most people work during the day well past 2pm so I’m curious to know what led them to this decision in reduced hours but it’s a sad day today.

Edit:
New management and a lovely response! Just temporary hours of operation. Thanks!

They closed for 4 months, giving their employees not even a week's notice, and then proceeded to fire one of the original staff from before closing after she waited 4 months to have her job back. From personal conversations with current and former employees from both the old drum and Lovett locations, the owners are disgraceful people. Which is a shame, because back in November, old drum was an amazing place to come to for hours on end, with amazing staff and amazing coffee. Places like java junction, and dare I say star bucks, are the only coffee places worth a darn nowadays.
