I run almost everyone morning and when I do, I’ll usually stop here to get ONE cup of water before running again. The past times I’ve done this, the people have been very nice to get me one cup of water and I drink it and leave. This time, there was a older lady there with white hair. Before I even ask, she already looks like she’s gonna be trouble. I asked for a cup of water and she said “it’s gonna be 50 cents.” I inform her that I’ve been running the past couple of days and no ones ever asked me to pay. I’m not tripping about the 50 cents, I’m just saying if they would’ve said it the first time I would’ve started bringing my card with me on my runs. She’s not being rude or anything but the lady before me said “I’ll spot you 50 cents!” Super nice lady, very appreciated, but then the barista says “no I don’t want you to pay for his” and pushes her money away and gives me the water. “Next time, it’ll be 50 cents.” I think it was a really weird situation that she wouldn’t take the other lady’s money when she wanted to help me. I don’t want to make it a race thing but the nice lady was white and I am a black male. It just made me feel uncomfortable how to barista was behaving.

I wouldn't recommend any sort of milk based drink if you are 'into' coffee at all. They use an all in one automated machine that pumps out very mediocre results. If you're downtown and want good coffee there are multiple better options within very easy walking distance(Coffee Ethic, Kingdom Coffee etc)

Had a Butterbear coffee drink here and it was one of the best cold coffee drinks I've ever had. Good pricing and presentation. More people need to give this place a shot.

Very friendly staff and the best frappes in Springfield!

We stopped by while looking for a coffee stop while playing Pokémon Go, and I'm very happy that this was where my map said Starbucks was 🥰 the coffee was great, the person who made our drinks was so so so nice, the Cafe was really cozy...I'm excited to come here more often!!!

In all my hours of doing homework and working remotely out of coffee shops, I've never been to one that would try to kick me or my loved ones out for not ordering anything within an hour and using the wifi. When I used to work as a barista in college, I was never instructed to do so; we'd let people use the space freely and people would buy things without being prodded. I'm visiting from out of town. Is this just a Springfield thing? A Seattle thing?

I was raving about how neat of a spot it was this morning when I walked over to get something to wake up and wanted to come back and come by later to finish out my work. What a shame.

Love that SGF got the first Seattle Roast retail location in the country! Very friendly woman at the counter. Quality coffee - I was able to drink it black! And tasty apricot scone.

My husband had the cinnamon sugar latte. He liked it a lot. I had the cinnamon chai. Really good. The lady behind the counter is a sweet person. Thank you.

We went there wanting to see an old high school friend. Just had the coffee, of course it was excellent. Service was above average. Worth going to and we will go back.
