we are in town this week for a summer camp for our son. today was our se one visit to the Coffee Station for coffee and a chai. our first visit was decent and we had good service from the guy working the window. I ordered a coffee black and he asked whether I wanted an El Salvador or Ethiopian blend, and my wife ordered a skinny chai.
Today though, we pulled up to get coffee and there was a KCFD ambulance crewmember who had parked the ambulance and walked up to the window to order. it was unexplained, but he was standing at the window before the car in front of us ordered. I am assuming he was told to go to the back of the line ( just my car and the one in front of us, mind you). So he went to stand behind us in line. the car in front of us was taking several minutes to get their order, so the KCFD EMT went back to their ambulance and drove off. I initially figured he had a call as he had his radio out of his pocket as he walked away. Only after we pulled up a few minutes later and ordered, did we see the ambulance across the street at Donutology.
I thought that was a pretty rude gesture by the window attendant since these are the same people they would rely on to save their lives in an emergency.
that was first impression today, back to the our order:
the girl working the window today was let's just say, overall less than friendly. she started out asking for our order- i again ordered a black coffee and a skinny chai for the wife. This time the girl didn't ask what type of brew I wanted and had to ask twice for what sizes we wanted. and then in a rude tone asked if we wanted to leave a gratuity. She also huffed/snickered when I said no.
Please explain why I should be required to tip you for being rude to not only me, but also the KCFD, because you literally only had to hand the drink to us after you asked the barrister to pour a $4 cup of coffee for me and make a chai, and still messed up a simple order? The practice of asking a customer if they'd like to add gratuities is already awkward enough, but after seeing that display of rudeness to KCFD and our treatment resulted in this review.

This location in particular has been our favorite coffee in KC since before we moved here. Weird as it is, their temperature is always perfect. Some coffee shops make their coffee so dang hot you have to wait 15-20 minutes to drink, but somehow here its always hot without being scorching. The Ibis bakery ham and cheese croissants are also super good (although they have been a little burnt the past few months.....) They also always have dog treats at the window for the pup in the back seat!

Great coffee but super pricey and the sizes are small. Also don’t come if you’re in a hurry. The average wait time in the drive through is 15-20 minutes

It's small, there is plenty of parking, and it's a cool idea but their coffee isn't good quality. I have had their Americano and a black coffee with a shot of espresso on separate days and both tasted like old coffee. Because I drink black coffee or Americanos, it has to be good quality. Great atmosphere and the people seem nice though.

Tried the caramel cold brew. It was delicious but what was even better was the friendly service I received from the barista that served me. I'll definitely be back!

This is really one of my favorite coffee shops. I love that they have a drive-thru. They get their pastries from Ibis, which means they will often have loaves of fresh bread for purchase!

I love this little place. Just a tiny room serving great coffee. There's a drive through as well, so that's great. Despite it's small size, it is possible to sit inside and they even have a bathroom. They serve Ibis Bakery goods and Messenger coffee.

Great staff, perfect for food and bakery items. Cool atmosphere and the best latte I have ever had. I love this place! My favorite Saturday morning stop.
Only downside is the place is always packed and parking is hard to find.

Great friendly staff! I would have rated the experience five stars today, but I am 99% sure that the cold brew today was hot brewed expresso with ice (very acidic with an almost burnt taste). This experience was an outlier since their cold brew is normally amazing (they use Messenger coffee which is great).

I love the atmosphere of this place but I think they are burning the shots they make in their lattes. There is always a weird aftertaste that isn't great.
If you get a mocha you are fine! The pastries are good, the chorizo burrito is okay and the veggie burrito is pretty delicious.
Pros: Friendly staff, interesting building
Cons: In a parking lot, drive thru takes a while, burnt coffee most of the time
