It made my whole experience at the site and war so much better!
If you love medieval ambience and high fantasy anything, you'll love this place!

What is there to say! These people are great! I must to any trip to this event. They constantly have awesome entertainment, plenty of people to talk to, or just go in the morning and said have a nice hot cup of coffee. Will be returning year after year!

This place is amazing. The beer is awesome as always, the bards are better. What best place to get live music and stories, fun and laughter than this place. I come back every time. 10/10 would always come back

So this place only exists for one magical week per year, during Gulf Wars in early to mid March. But in that time they are gracious purveyors of beer, wine, coffee, and fun! They host numerous luminaries in the medieval music world, such as Wolgemut, and an evening there is always a delight. My one complaint would be not enough seating but that is a minor flaw in such a wonderful establishment.

We stop here every year a few times while at gulf wars SCA event. They have great beer. The entertainers are varied and usually amazing. The part I like the most is they have a nice fire pit inside that warms you up when there is a chill outside. The wait staff are always pleasant. So, we make a habit of stopping by for a visit in between wandering between camps and evening activities.

The is the BEST Middle Ages Tavern you'll ever goto. It opens around March 12th for around two weeks. If you like things like that... you will love it as do the THOUSANDS of people who come to the event!

It's a great place when you're in the SCA. Excellent music, best friends that you've never met before arrive to take part in Gulf Wars. Then they come to the green dragon for the music and the fun.

Open seasonally, only a few weekends a year and then one full week in the spring. Elizabethan pub with live music most nights. Generally only open to those attending events at Kings Arrow Ranch. Rub elbows with barons, dukes and kings. Great fun for historical reenactors but not what the public expects.

You can drink your fancy beers. You can drink them by the flagon. But the only brew for the brave and truuuuue comes from the Green Dragon! Hopefully reopening in 2023.

While the Green Dragon is unquestionably straight out of The Dream, and has splendid ale, cheese, mead and wenches, there is a tendency for the musicians to look down their noses at the audience.
To be fair, that could be because they are performing from a minstrel's gallery 10' above the bar. An actual, honest-to-god minstrel's gallery. Although to the best of my knowledge, "Minstrel in the Gallery" has never been performed there. If Efenwealt and Ben get their act together though it could be, during this year's sadly limited season.
In short: there is no place like this place. Get yer striped backside over there next week.
