This place has good home cooked type of food. When they bring your plate it looks just like when mama would do it at home.
The first time I ate there the food was a little better. The second time i guess we came a little late for the breakfast. It was good but the gravy was cold and that just ruined the whole deal. They have good tea! The staff is very friendly. I gave it 4 stars but the cold gravy really makes it a 3.5 for me.

Hole in the wall with great home cooked meals like grandma used to make, when she had the energy.

My Mom has lived in Greenville nearly all her life and had never been to this Cafe. My sister and I read the great reviews on Google and without hesitation decided to come, my Mom too. My Mom told us that when she was growing up, this restaurant used to not serve African Americans so she's never considered coming here. When we walked in, we were greeted by the waitress who was serving someone else's food and the hostess. We also received warm smiles from the other customers there who seemed liked staples of the cafe. I got an instant "hey y'all, make yourself at home" feeling when we walked in.

The employees knew the customers by name and vice versa. As the customers left, their farewell greeting was "see you next week by the grace of God".

We received prompt and friendly service. And the food!!! Aside from my own family cooking, IT WAS THE BEST BREAKFAST I've ever had at a cafe or restaurant! The pancakes were devine as I drenched them in melted butter and warm syrup. The bacon was perfect! Here's why everyone loves the hash browns. Because they're REAL! Real potatoes shaved into a hash and then fried. Not that powdered potato batter mess... Just everything was delicious. Oh! And the grits! Delicious! Delicious! Delicious! Everything!

At the end of our experience, my Mom processed that she had some feelings while being in there, but very glad she went! And is looking forward to returning again! It felt like some healing and some reconcilation. Next time I'm in town, I'll be here!!!!

I've lived in Greenville, MS most of my life and I'd never been here. I recently visited Greenville, MS with my boyfriend to see family and just hang out. We decided to eat here and I had a sourdough burger that was absolutely divine!! I normally always eat my fries first, but I just couldn't get enough of the burger after one bite! I will definitely be back to try more stuff out on the menu and possibly a sourdough burger to go. Two thumbs up! 👍👍

The best place to have breakfast in downtown Greenville. Great southern hospitality and lots of character and history in this diner. The uniquely thin and crisp hash browns are a must try!

Great breakfast with a classic "Cheers" type atmosphere where everyone knows your name. Lots of memorabilia from James woods and others. The unique hashbrowns are must!
