If you are looking for that small town cafe with crazy good food at a decent price, then this is your spot. Breakfast is the favorite with an amazing array of waffles, omelets, and the usual fare. But the #12 - chicken-fried steak with gravy, eggs, and hashbrowns keeps me coming back every time I am in town!

Great breakfast and portion sizes. French Toast is diagonal cut making the slices huge! Crowds are generally heavy in mornings however quick turn over of tables and quick staff never seem to disappoint.

Good food,very disappointed with the service. I was declined to order because they were only open for 45 more minutes.what a joke!

Great food and great service. We can't go thru Park Rapids without stopping. EVERYTHING we've ever had there was fantastic.

I've been eating at The Great Northern since I was born practically. It's a typical local diner with big servings and almost everything is cooked on the flat top. Tasty, a little greasy and very inexpensive. I've gone here for lunch up to four times in one week. The dinners here I think is where you get the most bang for you buck, though the vegetables are canned, you can't get a full meal for this price anywhere else in town (dinner salad, roll, a protein, a vegetable and a potato for as low as $6)

Fabulous old school small town diner...best french toast ever but this trip they cut the french bread a little thin and didn't do the egg dredge as long as usual so it was a little dry...only reason they didn't get a 5...the service have always been the real deal and spot on!

Waiting staff are kind and professional, and the breakfast is great. Definitely recommend eating here

Wonderful food, great atmosphere and reasonable prices! Kids plates are good size!
