Great vibes and even better coffee.

Window ordering was great! Pickup at the door on 24th. Oatmilk latte was delicious. Ask for a cinnamon donut (almost as good as Baker's Wife)

Picking up where Minneapolis establishment, Five Watt left off, Misfit Coffee stand on the shoulders of giants. Their “coffee as cocktails” is a seasonal rotation of surprise and ingenuity. Small bites like broth and bagels are the perfect complement to a perfect coffee drink.

Great coffee and I love the vibe.

Misfit feels like you’re at a cool grunge bar. Lots too look at- get the banana cold brew in summer - it rocks 🤘🏻

Really liked this place. They were open on Christmas and only one person was working but she managed everything well. Coffee was pretty good and the store was both clean and inviting. Would definitely recommend.

Very low key with friendly staff. Plenty of seating inside and outside. Nice choices of coffees.

i catch the bus right in front of their store, so figured I would try them out on thursday morning and got my standard "trying a new coffee place" drink: "medium roast coffee, to go."

the whole experience was awkward.

it was just me and 2 other customers in the place, but it took about 5 minutes for the barista to even acknowledge I was there even though we made eye contact a few times. that was weird.

we also had some trouble communicating over the loudness of the music and how soft spoken he was. This was at around 8am on my way to work so i don't know why they had the music so loud. I guess they are catering to the early morning rave crowd.

I had to ask him to repeat himself a few times to figure out what he was saying. turns out he couldn't hear me, either, so we ended up yelling at each other over the noise of the machines and the music "ONE MEDIUM ROAST COFFEE PLEASE" "OK WHAT SIZE" "LARGE THANK YOU"

The "flow" of their bar is also kinda weird. it wasn't clear that their was a specific place I was supposed to stand to order the coffee, or a 2nd specific place i was supposed to stand for him to give me the coffee, and a 3rd ( !!! ) place i was supposed to stand to pay him, but there is and he had me move around from place to place like some kind of weird awkward dance. I guess they could improve their signage? or maybe be less strict about it when i'm one of 3 customers in the whole place?

they also don't have any of the standard coffee condiments, like sugar packets or milk or whatever mixins, so you'll be dissapointed unless you like your coffee black. At least, i didn't see any but maybe they have some in the back that only the cool kids are supposed to know about. I mean, isn't this a basic standard in coffee shops? you get your coffee then there is a table or something where sugar and cream is available to sweeten to your taste?

the coffee was expensive and tasted sorta oily. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either.

I don't think I'll go back: i'll just wait to get to coffee shop in the skyway before getting my morning coffee. This place couldn't even get the basics right.

Seems to be a popular spot, but not a good fit for me. The volume of the music, more suitable for a bar, was a major detractor. Other drawbacks included the fee for non-dairy milk, which is more than other local cafes charge, and the darkness of the back half of the cafe that is faintly illuminated with clubby pink-hued lighting. They offer a wide range of unique specialty drinks, a lot of which seem heavy on the sugar.

Update: As Google does not allow me to reply to the owner, I can follow up here. I totally understand the vibe resonates with some. Like I said, I think I simply fall outside the target audience. Agreed that the drinks are creative and fun! I did try to find a less sweet drink on the menu and ultimately ordered an unsweetened matcha latte. I was trying to find a very lightly sweetened or "naturally" sweetened (e.g. honey, maple syrup) beverage but did not see this type of offering. I did try to solicit recommendations for a less sweet specialty drink from the baristas but they were also at a bit of a loss. (I am taking a fresh look at the menu and think the Black Pepper Miel may have worked well for me.) Regarding the non-dairy milk, I paid $7.25 for a soy matcha latte. On average, this is a $1+ more than I pay for equivalent beverages elsewhere. :(

Good black coffee. They've got a full bar and death metal was blasting if that's your jam. Good spot to duck into out of the cold.
