Hidden gem for sure. Outstanding food, great service, fair prices. These days real homemade, fresh food is hard to find. Only nit-pick is that the place has a slightly funny smell. Need to do something about the old cabin aroma.
Waited 50 mins for breakfast when there was only 3 tables waiting to get food. Ordered wheat toast, got rye that was hard and burnt. The hashbrowns and pancakes where still not done. No menus either, waitress recites it to you. The kitchen has a BUNCH of boxes all over the floor from what you can see of it and there’s a cat running around inside the restaurant. I’ll never come back.
As we walked in with our family of seven, the waitress frowned and exclaimed "Jesus, Mary and Joseph!" Then said crossly, "It's going to be a while" then walked away and did not return. We waited for a while and left. I'm not sure I've ever been treated so rudely at a restaurant.
Mary Kay Metz is an amazing woman who works night&Day at her restaurant and in her spare time tends her organic heirloom gardens. Her food is made from scratch and people from the cities make the drive for her creations. A true chef! Every time we visit we get a new creation! Deeeeeeeelicious every time! Thank you Mary Kay for bringing Central Cafe out to the country!
A wonderful small-town atmosphere: warm, welcoming and authentic. The homemade reuben sammich totally lived up to hopes, complete with a dill pickle grown from the owner's backyard.
If you're in the area, this is the cafe you will want to visit.
Very poor customer service, the server didn't seem like she wanted to be there, no smile no greeting, took almost 20 minutes to take our order when there was one other table in the building, someone called to ask if they were open and when the owner got off the phone she made a comment saying no we aren't open but I'm just standing here. Out of all the times I've been here this was the worst experience I had here. Seems to me that the workers there need to learn some customer service
Cash only. The food is great, the atmosphere is quaint(?) warm and welcoming. Most people are at the big tables because the booths are tight. I miss the place if I'm away too long. Friendliest service you'd ever want.
One staff member for the whole breakfast crew. Felt like she didn’t want to be there and took orders for some that came in after us. No charm or welcoming feel to this one and only place to eat in town. Very disappointed.

Had the best tasty omelet in my life this morning. Tex-mex.

Had the best Reuben sandwich I've ever had! Copious amounts of corned beef, kraut and cheese and perfectly grilled!
