STRIKE 3. Ordered eggs Benedict, it’s what I usually order when going out for breakfast. The cook doesn’t know the difference between Hollandaise sauce and chicken gravy. Absolutely disgusting. The eggs were barely past raw/runny and the hash browns were raw and cold in the middle. I told the waitress immediately that this wasn’t Hollandaise sauce it was chicken gravy and she went back to the kitchen and came back with another cup of chicken gravy and said the cook says it’s hollandaise sauce. The last few times we’ve been there it’s been sub par. I can’t recommend this place, and we will never go again.

We stopped with family we were visiting and had a wonderful breakfast. Food came fast and it was delicious. Very clean and modern inside, outside reminded me of the "good old days".
Very friendly waitress!

Wanted a juicy burger with all the fixin's at a decent price.
Over priced BUT they also charge $.49 EACH for lettuce, tomatoes, and/ or mayo!!! Cheese is even more.
We ended up just getting eggs and toast and THEN find out they don't take cards!!! No sign visible!
My disabled partner had to walk 3 blocks for an atm.
Horrid experience!

4 of us had breakfast there yesterday. Absolutely horrible breakfast. Undercooked hashbrowns, undercooked eggs, limp cold toast. Server was not friendly. No notice that they didnt take credit cards. They say best breakfast in town. It must be the only place in town. Won't go back there.

I didn't go there... I got my hair cut at Joe's barber shop and that was good. Always something to talk about there. As for main street restaurant I didn't even smell the food.

It's a diner with a small town vibe that features burgers, melts, pies and breakfast. I had the breakfast monte (french toast sandwich) because it seemed like the only original thing on the menu. I would love to see them branch out and create their own signature menu items to make this place stand out more. The reason I give this place 3 stars is because they ONLY ACCEPT CASH and that wasn't stated anywhere before walking in or mentioned to us. Luckily I had some cash on me.

Food was great but the service is awful they are very rude including the owner. I never leave reviews but this place needed one. I wish them well but im not going back.

First discovered this place in 2012 while I was in town for WeFest. The prices are fair, the portions are massive, the food is fantastic, and the people are even better. My wife and I are in DL once a year for three days, we stop in at least twice, and the staff still remembers us. Granted, I proposed to her here in 2014...but it feels like visiting friends every time we go back!

This is a nice little restaurant. I had the country fried steak with hash browns and it was delicious. This place only takes cash and checks so make sure to have a couple dollars on you. But overall I definitely recommend coming here and enjoying the best breakfast in Detroit lakes.
