Chocolate Cafe

Ice cream is good. Not the widest selection but the flavors they do have are great. The turn off for this place tho comes from how dirty and unorganized the place and staff are. Tables and floors aren't cleaned in the evening and you need to watch where you step. When it comes to paying, standing in line and having the staff pick people behind you is pretty common... I'm assuming. It was odd waiting 8 minutes and finally going to a register with someone who didn't take your order only to spend a bit explaining what you ordered.

The Michigan cherry ice cream is to die for. And the chocolate covered cherries will put you into a blissful coma! Very friendly service.

Love this coffee shop/deli/chocolate candies/ice cream establishment. Great for all sorts of goodies. They are always very festive. I enjoy the culture of the place. 4 stars because one of the workers-an middle aged woman-is consistently negative and lacks customer service. Otherwise a very nice business. Would love to visit again soon.

Required first stop when arriving in St. Joe, MI. Mrs. Michigan United States and the great chocolatiers at the Chocolate Cafe.

The employees seem confused about who is taking customer orders and at which stations. Two of the employees are running around trying to help everyone while the rest act like they would rather be anywhere else. This makes each order take much longer than necessary and the customers waiting start to accumulate and wonder if their order was forgotten. I’m sure their desserts are delicious but the service overall was not good

There are so many options here and the friendly employees took their time with every customer. We arrived in town at about 1pm so we enjoyed a late lunch here. My husband had the Cuban sandwich and he really enjoyed it, as did I with my hot ham and cheese. Both sandwiches were so large we took half home. I had the potato salad as a side which was great and my husband had the pasta salad and we both thought it was the best pasta salad we have had from a cafe like this. I cannot express enough how kind all the employees were, both to us and to everyone else we saw them assisting. During these strange and difficult times I am sure it isn’t easy to keep such a positive attitude so I truly appreciated it!

After being away for 10 years my chair is still here and in good condition. The muffin are still the best as I remembered them to be. Staff is super friendly, coffee is great. Price is average as I'm comparing to the many other coffee cafe I've been to across Americas big cities. Happy and pleased to say come on down and enjoy the atmosphere.

Before moving to the area from the Detroit , my wife and I would stop in St. Joseph, on the way to Chicago, and often have ice-cream and coffee at the Chocolate Café. The experience was always pleasant, cheery and warm. And the ice creams was great. Now that we have moved to the area and my office is a block away, I go there all the time, both on business and with my wife for coffee, tea and tasty goodies. It's got my seal of approval!
