Blue Owl Coffee Old Town

This place SHOULD be good. It has a sweet spot in Old Town in Lansing, but it falls way short.

I ordered a simple chai latte. You can't get much more simple than that. But ohhhh....

The barista used simple oat milk and chai mix from a box. I could make that at home, and frankly I could make it better than he did. It was WAY TOO STRONG. And no spice on the drink at all.

The prices are too high for this to be a "out of the box" coffee shop. I can't imagine how badly they would mess up a more complex coffee drink.

Great drinks, typically small coffee shop prices, great place to study or read.

It's such a comfy location, small but not at all cramped, with decor that feels both warm and airy. The baristas know their menu front to back and back to front and can come up with some really great suggestions if you can't pick from their wide menu options or if you're feeling adventurous and want to try something new. Everything is locally sourced, making this cafe a true hometown gem.

It really is the best in town, never felt such good value from expensive coffee. The mocha is by far the best I’ve ever had, and the syrups they use for their floral drinks taste incredibly natural and realistic

Visiting from out of town and discovered the best coffee I’ve had in a long time.

Fantastic! Cold latte with lemon and lavender flavor. Lots of great unique choices. Including charcoal and spearmint. The barista was very helpful and made a great drink that was super smooth!

If I’m in Old Town, I love being able to pop in and order a coffee to assist me on my adventures. The interior features a bathtub bench and a tuba light… what more could a Lanstronaut ask for?

I stopped in today and was greeted by the barista, Nick. He made a delicious Cafe Miel and recommended the peanut butter chocolate chip cookie. Nick has a very warm and welcoming demeanor. He remembered every guest who came into the store after me. Wonderful coffee, great cookie, AMAZING service!
