We stopped here before my son’s wrestling meet and I’m so glad we did. Such a cute place. I got an iced white mocha latte and two bacon and spinach burritos, and it was all incredible. The young man working was so friendly and sweet. Service was amazing and so was the coffee. Highly recommend this place.

I ordered the bacon cheese spinach burrito which also comes with potatoes it was super bomb but made to be crispy so a bit flakey, Definetly not a car food. If you're looking for a new interesting drink they offer raspberry mochas I've never had one but loved it.

Fast, friendly service & yummy coffee. The biscuits are made with (bell) peppers, so that was not good for me. The next thing I ordered was supposed to be a breakfast burrito with bacon, egg & spinach, but had grilled onions instead...

Food tasted pretty good, but was very greasy. Coffee was subpar. Prices are outrageous. $19.50 for one breakfast sandwich and a large latte. I won’t go back. And they don’t have dine in, it is only a drive thru.

So awesome! I always try coffee shops on my travels and this one did NOT disappoint! I seriously had the best iced mocha I have EVER had. Great pleasant workers and fast service too!

The food and drinks were pretty good a bit overpriced in my opinion and portions were small. The reason they lost 2 stars is because of the inneficient process of ordering. We originally tried to order online , but we couldn't because they don't allow large orders online... I would imagine making a large order online makes more sense then in person, plus we only had like 10 items and 1 of them was a doggy treat. So I called in and tried to place the order over the phone like the website prompted me to do. The person that helped me said I had to come in person to order. So I show up to order and find out it is drive through only. Finally got to order and the drink I wanted was not available. A lot of work just to get a quick breakfast, not the best experience.

The disposable coffee cups look cool but they leak really bad and the lids don't fit over the seam. I've been coming here for years and that's the only problem I've ever had. The coffee is fantastic. The workers are super nice and helpful. I recommend this place and all the other WSCJ locations.

Let me start by saying that I already know that this company has built quite an empire. I have a feeling that I will get an automated-sounding response to this review advising me to "escalate" my concern by composing an email. I know that ultimately I won't be listened to, but even so, I'd be happy just getting a gift card.

Why?

Because even though I am consistently underwhelmed by the quality of the food, I still frequent the place. I can't complain about the coffee and espresso. It gives me jitters, but it is almost always quite delicious.
As for the scones, I keep buying them because I keep hoping they will be the wonderfully textured, fully baked, not-too-sweet treat I used to love so much. Now, whenever I purchase them, I instantly regret spending nearly 5 dollars on what looks and tastes like a sad and doughy cake.

But I still buy them. I visit the Sprinkle Road location a lot as it is convenient for me. Starting with this past year or so, I began noticing an annoying trend. Without my being asked, the scones I was ordering were being heated up. I speculated that this may be related somehow to how underbaked they have become. Surely not every other patron wants a heated scone? Even if that is the case, I still felt as though I should have the choice to purchase my scone unheated. So going forward when visiting the Sprinkle Road location, I simply began to specify that I did not want my scone heated. I was still disappointed every time by the scone itself, but I accepted the situation.

Until yesterday.

I went up to the drive thru, ordered a maple pecan scone, and stated that I did not want it warmed up.

At which point, the employee provided me with a bit of information. Something that would change my mind about Water Street forever.

She explained that the scones were FROZEN. Therefore, the scone would need to be warmed up. Otherwise, it would "take hours" to thaw. Yes, she said hours. Perhaps she had made a mistake by describing this to a customer. Perhaps it wasn't her fault. In the future, I wonder if the Water Street brand would benefit training the baristas to use more discreet messaging. For example, "the scones are served warm." Period.
I left without buying anything. I felt horrified. Frozen scones? This was a company that I had trusted to at least have freshly baked items - even if they didn't blow my mind every time.
It makes me incredibly sad to see an evolution like this. I grew up with this coffee shop. It has been integral to Kalamazoo - ingrained in the culture of our city, and close to my heart. Now when I think about Water Street Coffee Joint, the only thing that comes to mind is money.

No dining room but it's Starbucks
Without being Starbucks. Smaller menu but the chicken pesto is nicely toasted

The coffee here is phenomenal! I asked for something that had a strong coffee flavor and also enjoy a dark chocolate/ spicyness so had the Mocha del Sol recommended to me. Amazing! Perfect temperature, perfect flavor combination of chocolate, coffee, and cayenne, and great service. I'm sad this was a stop along my long trip instead of a local coffee shop for me.
