Great, cool locally owned coffee, sandwich, Freak Shake house!! A must stop!

Love the quaint coffee shop feel and the large variety of drinks and food. Everything I've had here has tasted great. Service could be better though. The owner is very friendly, but other staff members seemed like they just dont want to be there dealing with customers. Otherwise a fantastic place and I would definitely recommend.

*edit: in recent months, the staff has been much friendlier and the atmosphere is great. Changing my review to 5 stars.

Love the quaint cafe atmosphere. They have great sandwiches. My favorite so far is the "The Chicken", jam on the side and sliced apple slices rather than chips. Love the Peppermint Mocha with low-fat milk! Fast, friendly service. Like family...then I browse the local crafts for sale...Thanks Stomping Grounds in Durand, Michigan!

Even after changing owners a few times over the past few years, I am glad this coffee shop maintains its small town feel and hospitable service. SGC is a great place to meet friends for coffee or a sandwich. Several options make it a great place for a meeting. Free wifi allows for accessibility and productivity or leisure. The prices are very reasonable and food is delicious.

Well I haven't been here for awhile since I moved, but I enjoyed this little shop in my small hometown when I was still around. Good drinks, good friends, great chill spot. Ownership did change as well, and I believe that the owner got into hot water and is closing the establishment soon. I wish they hadn't bought it, because I would have liked to come back to visit when I had time. Absolute shame. Minus one star because of the Hartzell family and their poor decision making.

This place is amazing!! All of the items we ordered were phenomenal! The new owner Jackie was so warm and welcoming! This is by far the best place to have coffee/ice cream/ food etc.

Service was timely and staff was friendly. coffee and breakfast tasted great. Will definitely come again if I'm in that area.

Everything about this place is perfect, definitely worth a stop if you're in the area! The other comments basically covered everything:
