Benny's Caribbean Cuisine And Ice cream / Denholm Coffee Shop
I would never let my kids eat at Benny's unless I was sure to investigate and made sure that they care about the safety of the customers. and follow all safety rules and regulation of food service.
I love Benny's.

I am here with my girlfriend I live in Boston so I always get good authentic Haitian food. When I walked in I was greeted in a very kind manner which is something you don't always get. We received a free appetizer of thin sliced well seasoned plantains which I must say were out of this world. Highly recommend!

Try the fresh Papaya Juice with milk. It is incredibly good

I ordered the Chicken in sauce with rice and plantains, and a side order of the beef patte.
The patte was severely undercooked and was basically just puff pastry with about 1tbsp of beef. It only cost $1.50, but I still felt like I overpaid.
The chicken in sauce, was actually two very small pieces of fried chicken which did not come in any sauce. The sauce was on the side. It came with raw tomato, lettuce, and onion on the side. The rice was actually pretty good, and there was plenty of it. The sauce was oily, but also pretty good. The plantains were undercooked, and cold.
Overall, definitely not worth the $12 I paid, especially considering the portions of chicken given. I won't be eating here again.

Jerk chicken combo was incredible. Don't forget the pineapple upside down cake.

The griot was very good. Loved the fried plantains.

My first time trying Haitian food was here at Benny's. The staff was super friendly! I was ordering to go and the server gave me a plate of papita to eat while I waited for my meal, at no cost. This homemade appetizer consists of thinly sliced plantains fried to crispy perfection with slices of sweet white onion, herbs and spices and a dressing similar to a vinegrette. Delicious! My meal was the #2, chicken with beans and rice, salad, plantains (sort of made into small pancakes with dipping sauce on the side) and something similar to cole slaw, but NOT cole slaw, and comfortably spicy. I think it's called pickliz? Not sure, but I'm sure I loved it. I shared everything with my girlfriend, who was equally happy with everything. I liked it so much that I returned the following day for ice cream. I asked what is traditional to Haiti and the server said rum raisin. I had never had it before and it turns out I love it! I was further excited to see that they sold ginger beer, so I bought a bottle of that too and thoroughly enjoyed it.
I highly recommend this lovely Haitian restaurant. The food is fantastic and the staff is very friendly and hospitable. I'll be back there again and again.
Cheers,

Got takeout delivered from Benny's by Foodler for lunch. I put in the order at 10:30 am - I got an email from Foodler at 12:08 stating: "The restaurant called to let us know that the order will be delivered in about 15 minutes. They open at 11am and do not have the ability to make and deliver orders by 12pm." Our food arrived, cold, at 12:45. The patties and the rice were each undercooked. The pork griot was bone dry, not spicy (which is how I asked for it to be prepared) and came with raw sliced white onion and red bell pepper. Not sure how much of an issue this was with the delivery service vs. the restaurant, but we won't be ordering from here again.
