This is the new place to take all of my money. After reading the reviews, I set out to try it. I've literally been multiple times every week since I've discovered them in February. I commute to Cambridge(Central) for work, but I've made the trip over to Curio even when I'm not working because honestly the coffee is just so good. It satisfies the soul. Drinks taste magnificent every time whether brewed coffee, lattes, or cappuccinos. The staff is nice. The only thing I'd say is that if you are not a dairy drinker, go with the oat milk, the almond is too sweet. Also even though they're super fast be careful with parking because I parked just beyond the shop to pick up what I'd ordered and no more than 2mins returned and had a ticket. That was on me... At least my "$40" coffee taste great.
very mixed feelings. i got an iced mocha, and the FLAVOR was amazing, the espresso was fantastic and pretty decently chocolately. however, it had a really weird crunchy/not smooth TEXTURE due to the stone ground chocolate they use for the mocha, almost feels as if there were espresso grounds in the drink (see the picture and response from owner (thank you!)). but it was just pretty unpleasant chewing these tiny grounds of chocolate in every sip... also just a disclaimer for anyone who drinks decaf, tried to get one for my friend and NO DECAF.
We tried a cappuccino, a chai with almond milk, and the waffles. Omg. All were outstanding. The waffles are moist and doughy on the inside, crunchy on the outside, chewy yet soft, not too sweet but sweet enough. Perfectly balanced IMHO. The chai was slightly spicier than most and not as sweet. I never get chais because most place overdo the sweetness. This one was perfect and I’d order many times again. The cappuccino was very well executed. Great balance of milk and espresso. The beans are clearly high quality. Note: we are coffee shop snobs from out of town and after we went to Curio the first time we had to go back. Highly recommended.
Go for the waffle and buy coffee elsewhere. The waffles are great. They are the best waffles I had in the USA. But, I have to be honest, their Americano and cappuccino are terrible. Way too much water in their shots.
I read that other reviewers loved the coffee here. There are only two possibilities. Either they were training a new barista, or they just screwed up my coffees.
I have to give 'one' star for their online order system. Its estimate time is not accurate at all and you will not get any notice about your order status. Moreover, you will get tons of spam calls if you leave your phone number.
Loved the vibe of this coffee shop — the highlight is their everything waffle, which was absolutely delicious (like an everything bagel with cream cheese but better)!
