Rise Up often hits the mark for affordable coffee drinks that are normally cheaper and flavorful than your average national coffee chain. Their espresso and blended drinks are a must-try when you're in Central Maryland.
Their Mad Eggs joint (food provider between 6AM-3PM) is often hit or miss though. While it's good, the food is too expensive for a casual morning pick-up, especially for those who are on a budget. A bacon, egg and cheese sandwich would run you up about $10 -- it is way cheaper to buy a bagel with butter or cream cheese spread.
Knowing that this is a local business with young interns, I tend to excuse normal hiccups, like missing tots or a small amount of coffee grounds in my drink (Yes, both happened to me last visit). Although it's unwanted, it doesn't subtract from a lot of my experiences, as accidents like these happen too far in-between.
Also, I've seen a lot of reviews talking about the "politics" of this store. There are none, and are most likely talking about the Pride flag outside their store or their practice of fair trade ingredients. These ideologies aren't forced at all, and is not that deep.
If you're visiting Maryland or just live local, this place is a must-try for anyone who loves coffee.

I love Rise Up. Although a tight space, it's an excellent spot to drop in and grab a deliciously brewed coffee! Their lattes are always expertly crafted, their drip coffee is delicious, and don't forget to order from Mad Eggs - insanely good food!

Stopped by their location inside the Annapolis Marketplace and got the Banana Coffee Smoothie with oat milk and a chocolate muffin.
Both the coffee and muffin were delicious! And the service was amazing too! 10/10 recommend.

They have good coffee flavor. I’m a coffee expert myself. Grew up in a family that owns restaurants and coffee shop. I can tell you they have the best coffe flavors. They know how to roast their coffee! It is really chocolaty flavor and roasted medium. Best coffee best

Friendly local coffee shop. Made a great skim latte but has all the usual hot and cold drink choices. Also great breakfast sandwiches from Mad Eggs Express - they are waiting in a warmer right next to the register so no wait.

One of the best caps I've had in the county, but sometimes just ~3/5. Never bad, and sometimes fantastic. Food offerings are always good, but it is usually busy so order ahead or expect the wait.

Gosh, it's expensive! But the Iced Latte (no added flavors) is so refreshing! And the multi-grain muffins are excellent.

This is a small but popular coffee shop. I spent several hours in the space and I am unsure if they offer WiFi as I didn’t see anything visible on my computer and no signage. The coffee was well made and polite staff. I will say in the two hours at the shop I never saw one employee go around and clean the tables or floors which seemed to have a lot of crumbs even when arriving Saturday at 10am which is concerning. Also, I didn’t know they had a coffee rewards program until at the end of my stay when they offered a card to a customer. My pictures show the space and crumbs which were there before my order.

(This is really a 5 star review)
Service was very nice, prompt, friendly, helpful. The end result (cortado) was also very tasty. The missing star is that a cortado and macchiato are different but here they are the same. I likely am being too critical.
Great selection of roasted beans from a variety of locations. Ask for the tasting notes information sheet because the packaging does not specify.
Will return.

Nice outdoor tables, food served, clean bathroom, friendly staff. The cinnamon toast crunch seasonal latte is delicious 😋
