A nice little cafe in Bar Harbor. Enjoyed their iced coffee and their breakfast sandwiches. Iced coffee was nice and smooth & the breakfast sandwiches we got were bacon, egg & cheese on everything & a ham, egg & cheese on everything. Basic bagels from the grocery store so meh but the rest was great besides that. They do load up the breakfast sandwich. Would come back here and try other things on the menu.

The food was alright, although the two times that we tried the service was poor. The first time, it took 30 minutes to make 4 sandwiches to go, making us late for the rest of our activities on the island. The second time, they forgot to put cream cheese on two of our bagels. Nice location, alright food, poor service.

Pleasant staff, decent though unremarkable food; very exhorbitant prices. Price for plain veggie burger, lobster BLT sandwich, and two small "box water" cartons to go: just under $50.

We had a fantastic experience at The Independent today. Tim & his team are incredibly warm, friendly and inviting. A clear mix of locals among the cruise passengers, which is always a great sign. Fast, efficient service - even though we placed a large order. And all with a smile and friendly conversation! Fresh, locally roasted coffee (all within the last week). The Thanksgiving Day panini is a MUST try! We would highly recommend coming in for a visit and a coffee. Thanks for a memorable experience in Bar Harbor, Tim!

Food was better than average and staff was friendly. Seemed to be required to leave a tip if paying by credit card. No sure why I had to tip since I ordered the food at the counter and picked up my food. Table not cleaned. Hard to justify a gratuity more like a table service fee. Sandwichs were 10 dollars and were good. I would probably return.

Felt like a normal coffee place nothing to memorable or note worthy. Our drinks were average.

They had food available including lobster rolls. We did not purchase any of their food but the menu looked good.

$15 Turkey and $14 Ham sandwich. Dry and flavorless. Cute place but not good sandwiches.

Me and my boyfriend loved this place so much we stopped by in the beginning of our visit to bar harbor and on our way out! The white hot chocolate was so great and watching the gentleman make it I could tell he's dedicated to his craft. The cafe itself has books on the tables and a welcoming vibe all around even to us New Yorkers!

This place is trendy with a open-minded vibe... Except if you have a shellfish allergy. Even after being told it would be possible for staff to change gloves when handling items the staff demonstrated their inability to complete such a simple task. Find a different sandwich shop this place can't get it right.

Leaving 5 stars as to not affect their rating but wanted to warn people to make sure you call ahead. Two days in a row I walked down to grab Herbal Revolution products and they were closed. Google showed them as open, but they were not. They need to update their Google hours.
