A $4 cappuccino should not be luke warm

Nice interior design, and good coffee. But wayyyy overpriced. Paid for a $6 coffee the other day!! In my opinion, you can get better coffee at Hey Cafe (just a few blocks away) for cheaper.

Gorgeous spot with amazing atmosphere. Friendly and very knowledgeable staff who know A LOT about coffee and don't make me feel dumb because I don't. Food is crazy good.

This review details the hiring process deployed by the owner, and the quite negative experience I encountered during this "process."
As I was currently looking for some work, I was excited to see a post on IG of Cherry currently hiring. I immediately emailed and a few days later the owner emailed me back and suggested we meet. During our first meeting, I mentioned within the first two minutes of the interview that I was a strong communicator and that I believe the worst truth will always be better than the best lie, making it known that being an open and honest communicator was something important to me. I also let the owner know that I was interested in working there because I believed in small business and wanted to be an intricate part of the Cherry community and help the business grow and evolve. After a solid interview but with no offer on the table I ended up taking a phone call later that day scheduling an interview at a world renowned and famous restaurant down the street. Seeing as I still didn't have anything to go off of except for what I felt was a positive interview earlier that day, I accepted and scheduled the interview with this famous restaurant.
A couple of days later I received an email from the owner at Cherry saying that they liked my vibe, and we might be a good fit. I was scheduled to come in for a 30 minute work interview, which was scheduled after the scheduling of the interview with the famous restaurant, but the second Cherry interview would come one day prior. When I showed up I was thrown to the wolves and just started working. I had a very good connection with every customer I encountered, I was able to hold down the POS system with no problems, and the vibe and flow felt right. During this work interview I told the owner that I did have the interview with the famous restaurant the next day. I did mention several times how much I enjoyed it at Cherry and really liked the vibe and thought that we worked well together.
Being someone still with no offer on the table from Cherry, but two successful interviews, I finally exchanged numbers with the owner at the end of it who told me to touch base after my interview the next day. Excited about the prospect of working with Cherry it was nice to feel that they were giving me the 24 hour period to allow me to weigh all of my options, especially since no offer was still made to me at this point.
The next morning I was so excited about Cherry that I texted the owner, asking if I could come in to chat after my scheduled interview with the famous restaurant (my intent to come talk about working with Cherry) since I already knew what I wanted, and wanted to touch base in person to get that clarity on that offer that never came. Unfortunately what happened next is the reason this place is getting only 1 star for their hiring practices. I received a very unprofessional text in reply from the owner. I will not go in to details about this text, but the owner DEFINITELY jumped to conclusions about me based on assumptions they developed within their own mind. This was EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL and would not be recommended in any form of business. The owner seemed offended by me taking an interview that was already scheduled before she gave me a second interview and still never put any offer down on the table. I even replied and apologized, something I shouldn't have to be doing or shouldn't even be a situation of that manner as I did nothing wrong and also made no allusions at all to committing to the famous restaurant. All of this went against the communication I had with Cherry to this point and the owner alienated me from feeling accepted even as a patron that would have been a very professional and involved asset to their business. This behavior only reciprocates the jumping to conclusions based on assumptions - if the owner is this unprofessional and mentally unstable to a prospective hire, then this must be how they are to work with as well.

Coffee, food, and atmosphere are great though (but you will be paying a higher price)!

Cherry is probably my favorite coffee house in uptown. Good people, good coffee, and a wonderful place to sit and do work. Just come try them out!

This coffee shop is a great addition to the neighborhood. Very friendly and comfortable place. Their plain ol' drip coffee is unusually good, in my humble opinion.

Helpful and friendly place, love their use of mason jars for serving their ice coffee instead of plastic. Aside from their good espresso they also have great sandwiches there too!

Very good breakfast sandwich. Excellent coffee. And they left out the indifferent service common to so many places today. Very nice people. Y'all come!
