This place is a bit pricey. Chicken ($13-8pc) was seasoned well, far as best chicken ever (I wouldn't say that). The Jambalaya ($7-2scoops of rice) was just okay and potatoe salad was a bit too sweet for MY taste buds, but everything was fresh and hot.

This place has been around since I was a kid & I'm going to assume that the grandkids are running this place because the older BROWN'S ARE NOT BEHIND THIS.
I WALK IN IT'S RAP MUSIC PLAYING CURSING AND ETC. BUT WE ARE GROWN HEY BUT WHEN I HAVE MY KIDS WITH ME TO GO I'M AN ESTABLISHMENT THEY DON'T NEED TO HEAR THIS. I CALLED my order in 20 minutes before going there soon was expecting it to be done. It wasn't an older guy came in and asked did everyone get taken care of and proceeded to tell them what's taking so long because the lobby should've been clear. The other lady there said I been here for 25 minutes how long does chicken take to cook. THE older guy assured her he's going to make sure the food will be done. I got my food and was on my way to work. Tearing them shrimps up and I get all the way to work enjoyed my food and it's time for the cake. And the cake was Stale. I was mad.

A local legendary eat spot for towns people that I been enjoying for almost 3 decades. Everything is fresh, cook to order and they give full portion pieces fried to perfection from their family recipe. Best chicken ever

If you haven't tried Brown's Cafe you should. It's a little whole in the wall place but they have some really tasty food. Your food is prepared when you order, so no food that sits out all day. It's off the beaten path so use your gps to locate it

The chicken is seasoned really good but DO NOT order the jambalaya off the menu. I ordered a large order for $9 and only gotten the bigger section of a to go box, not filled to the top. Was totally disappointed in the portion size for the high price.

I live down in Baton Rouge and passed by here with 2 freinds today. I was amazed with the quality and taste of the food. Best fried chicken I have ever had in my life!!!! The chicken has a really good seasoning. The jambalaya was out of this world and better than any jambalaya ive ever had. I wish this place was close to me id be coming all the time. Im not over exaggerating about anything ive typed this place has some of the best food ive ever tried.

Nice homely place owned by a warm-hearted Mr. Brown and his family. I love the crispy texture of the fish and the juicy savoriness of the homemade fried chicken. My family didn't let me taste the shrimp though, because they ate it too fast 😅. The potato salad is the kind with mustard and yummy relish, making it almost addictive and giving it a memorably distinctive flavor. Only downside to this visit was that the desserts weren't available and their classic Ms. Pac-Man arcade machine had finally broken and was down for the count. But regardless, Brown's Cafe is a deliciously timeless restaurant with a lot of history and a plenty of ❤️

Large portions and definitely authentic Louisiana style cooking because it had a major kick. If you cant eat hott food dont eat here! Overall it was great however we didn't receive the sides we paid for so make sure to check your bag if getting it to go.
