Great example of what you want in a local coffee shop. Character, Knick knacks, interesting books, super cozy.

My husband and I go every Saturday, always so welcoming, fresh & the best tasting coffee!! Highly recommend!

My husband and I were hopeful to get some good coffee, but unfortunately the coffee was weak. I got a drip coffee and it just didn't have much flavor. It seems they don't really know how to make a cortado, either. It had too much milk for a cortado. We asked him about it and the barista truly didn't believe that it was made wrong. We probably won't be back.

We visited this coffee shop after I read online about it. The shop is in a great historic location, a corner shop at 6th&Main. The workstation and cash register seemed efficient and appealing with a large-print menu in multicolored chalk. (Two-thumbs-up) Free fast WiFi, THANKS!
However the place kind of goes downhill from there; the seating was hodgepodge with uncomfortable yard sale type chairs, stools and wicker. Eclectic can be fun but when a bistro tables legs are 1/2 inch uneven and a piece of wood placed under the guilty leg, it tends toward negligence. Local art on the wall is very cool, however said wall filled with nail & screw holes, not so cool. It seems having a fresh pair of eyes and a little spruce-up money would go along way!

My absolute favorite place in Shelbyville. Way more affordable (and tasty) than its competitors, all the staff members are so kind and are willing to make anything any way you want.

I am disappointed to share an unfortunate situation at a place which served well-tasting coffee. I hope this raises your awareness as you make your own choice of to whom to give your business.

A group of 50 colleagues and I were in Shelbyville for business for several days. We chose Sixth and Main to order multiple coffee carafes to support local businesses and had a very pleasant ordering service from a young woman. As she began to brew the coffee, Angie arrived and upon learning of the large order, stated to her employee and me this needs to be ordered with a one hour lead time to not tie up the brewers for other customers. It was clear Angie was not pleased as she told her employee she should have known. I responded that would be no problem, we’ll wait for the one currently brewing and come back anytime later for the others. On my way out, she asked her employee if she charged me for condiments. I was taken aback at the attitude in which she spoke towards her employee and did not feel it my place to respond and left the store.

I returned later to pick up the remaining order to Angie exhibiting extreme rudeness towards me. I asked why she was treating me with disrespect to which she explained I was rude for not wanting to pay for condiments. I clarified I am more than willing to pay and apologized for not previously making that clear. She explained how one carafe is $12.50 and condiments would cost an additional price per serving. I clarified I paid $17.00 per carafe asking if that must have included condiments. She then realized they raised prices, explained she did not know and how could she know, that they have been in business for 18 years and it is hard to make money, and costs are rising. She also sadly belittled her employee saying she is 20 years old and does not know. Angie continued to speak at me with a raised voice and attitude that clearly expressed her annoyance. I asked her to please do not continue to speak with and treat me with disrespect. She raised her voice further telling me I did not want to pay for condiments and asked me to leave the store.

Honestly, at this time I had hoped she would at minimum acknowledge her attitude towards me and no longer speak with rudeness and disrespect, and at best apologize for any misunderstanding. I have compassion that she must be dealing with stress in her life, so I asked her to please not treat me this way and know that I am willing to pay for condiments. It was clear she was set on her opinion of me which then I tried one more opportunity to deescalate the situation informing her that I do not understand her attitude towards me other than possibly because I am an Asian American (which in my 50 years of life, this has sadly been an explanation for situations that just didn’t make any clear sense). Sadly, she raised her voice even more and said I was the one being extremely racist, pointed her arm/finger at the door and told me to get out, and picked up the phone threatening me with calling the police. This was also all in presence of a handful of customers.

I have compassion for Angie and am very saddened and honestly very unnerved by the situation. It was extremely unpleasant, and my wish is she can be self-aware and mature to self-acknowledge, and especially to ensure this local business continues to provide good product, employ very pleasant employees, and thrive for their customers.

such a cute place! the only downside is they only take CASH tips, which (even though the barista is definitely used to it) is sad because i never carry cash. keep that in mind if you try it out!!

Love love love their coffee! The employees are super welcoming and always have a smile. A little pricey but worth it 😊

As others have said, the coffee is really good here. Then vanilla latte in particular is great. Not many seats inside, but very cozy. Friendly staff too.

Great coffee and conversation. They now offer Matcha tea.
