Would be 5 stars is but the music being played at the Jtown location is just absolutely awful. I have no power like most of Louisville so I’m appreciative they let me charge my phone but it sounds like the soundtrack of “Scrubs” in here. Where’s Zach Efron? This barista probably was 2 when that show was on anyway, why must we listen to this?
Quills has always been in the top three for Louisville coffee. The espresso here is en point and they are up to date on trends and how coffee works. This location in particular has something special. The bathrooms. The bathrooms are in my top three. They aren’t extra or fancy. More minimalistic, with a rustic feel. The sinks are the best sinks I’ve put my hands in. It’s almost as if the coffee gods said here, use this toilet. It’s calling you. And I’ll tell you what, I answered.
Certainly one of the nicest coffee shops this side of Louisville! Quills coffee is superb as always. Love the balcony seating and the old bank safe in this location which gives it a unique feel.
Love their coffee, I can't go without my Night Owl blend. They don't have as many options for in house drinks as some of the bigger chains (local or otherwise) so sometimes I find myself craving something they don't have, but seriously, you can't beat the quality of their beans.
A friend of mine recommended me to visit Quills after moving to J-Town; today I did, and I couldn't be any happier! After trying many, I can easily say that Quills is the best coffee I've ever had. Also, their Chai Latte is really special.
Picked up a bag of coffee. Unfortunately it was a bit overpriced, $20 for a 12 oz bag. I'd be happy to pay that if the quality was a little better, but coffee is just good not great. Great location and vibes, staff was friendly.
Grabbed a morning cup of coffee, first time in Louisville. It was not busy, just a few customers inside and no one ahead of us ordering. The baristas were friendly. Ordered a pourover and a latte with a bagel to share. Barista warned me that pourover would take a few minutes, that's fair. Not my first rodeo.
The latte came out and my partner did not like it, but drinkable. The barista forgot about the bagel, so I had to remind them to make it while I waited for the pourover. I saw they were using an automatic pourover machine (I think a Marco?) to make the pourover instead of by hand. Never experienced one, but looked forward to trying it.
Unfortunately it was perhaps the worst pourover I've had from a coffee shop. I could honestly make a better one at home. No body, no fragrance from what should have been bright and lively beans, it was a waste of those beans! I will have to try a cup from a Marco somewhere else.
And to top it off, after forgetting to make the bagel, they forgot to take the bagel out of the toaster and I had to remind them about it. The place was not busy, so unfortunately may just be the way this coffee shop operates. Nice enough people though.
The atmosphere at this quills location definitely beats the other locations in my opinion. The upper balcony seating and the vault door are eye catching. Fortunately the coffee is still just as great! My favorite of louisville no doubt! Love the coffee they make and the beans they make available to buy. I just wish that they sold their syrup they make in house!

Great tasting coffee and the inside was super cool! Definitely need more flavor options for drinks. Brown sugar please!!!

Drinks were great. Service was great. The barista made something for my kid that was not on the menu. Turns out he really liked it. Will be back soon
