Awaken Bakery | Always Gluten Free

I will preface with "I don't seek out gluten free anything," but I do like to support local businesses. With that said, popped into this bakery that is located downtown just off the square. Close to closing time so not very many items in case to choose from. Owner was there with a warm smile and place was extremely clean. Mini cupcakes were good and icing was rich and creamy. Incredible. Simply incredible. I was diagnosed with celiac disease in 2021. Even as someone familiar with gluten-free eating, it’s difficult to constantly explain myself and my dietary needs at restaurants. Awaken Bakery is a place I can eat with confidence, and I don’t have to explain a single thing.

And can we just talk about the QUALITY of these baked goods?! The cinnamon rolls were out of this world, and the biscuits were so flaky and buttery I nearly cried from joy. My whole family enjoyed breakfast, and didn’t even realize it was gluten-free. Simply incredible. Please support this amazing local business, even if you aren’t a gluten-free eater.

What an absolute gem! We drove out of the way while traveling because everything looked delicious online and we were not disappointed! We all loved our sandwiches (grilled cheese, pizza toasties and chicken salad baguette). They were so melty and flavorful. We tried multiple desserts and while all were yummy the warm cinnamon roll was the favorite! We would absolutely detour off the freeway again to stop here!

I bought a cheesecake for myself and my parents. They have stereotypes about gluten free foods so I didn't mention the cheesecake was gluten free. We all thought it was the best cheesecake we have ever eaten. I told them the cheesecake was gluten free after the fact and they were shocked.

Another wonderful find in downtown BG! Gluten-free or not, very good Turkey Bacon Avocado Toastie. And a refreshing Lemon Ginger Kombucha from The Fermented Fizzy

Went today for both breakfast and then again for lunch and grabbed a whole bag of yummy stuff to take home. No exaggeration the best gluten free breads and desserts I've ever had. My boyfriend doesn't have celiac and was also very impressed. Said he couldn't even tell it was gluten free and loved his bacon biscuit at breakfast and his ham toastie sandwich at lunch. We enjoyed our coffee and dessert as well. Also really appreciated the use of local, fresh milk and eggs. Absolutely loved this place and highly recommend for those or with celiac diseases. It was such a nice change to be able to eat out without worrying about the chance of cross contamination.

A friend and I drove an hour this morning from Hopkinsville Kentucky to go to the bakery. We were not disappointed! The cinnamon rolls are out of this world. We bought a lot of things to bring home and hopefully will get to enjoy over the next few days. The cinnamon churros are amazing as well. The owner was super friendly. We will be back!

Everything is gluten free, so no worries about cross contamination! The food is so delicious that even non gluten free humans will enjoy it. I had a chicken salad sandwich and it was delicious. I can't wait to try the other lunch items. I also had a cinnamon roll that was just perfect. The dough was yeasty, and the cream cheese frosting wasn't too sweet.

Best gluten free biscuit I’ve tasted. My daughter even said it tastes like a regular gluten filled biscuit. The crispy bacon is a perfect addition to the yummy biscuit.
I also had biscuit & gravy. The gravy is delicious and full of sausage.

Best Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, Vegan Mac N Cheese, Chicken Salad and Bread I’ve had. Literally brought tears to my eyes and I had zero food reactions after. Safe, warm environment where you can feel and taste the love.
