What a neat little shop! I made a stop as I was passing through Humboldt on my way to Minnesota due to a detour on the highway and was pleased to see signs of life here. Humboldt has it's own developing arts culture in the downtown, and my eye caught the "local goods" on the window of the Mercantile while I was idling at a red light, so of course I had to wander in. I appreciated that it was open as some of the other "lunch" places were closed in the afternoon and I was parched and needing to stretch my legs.
The Mercantile is a collection of local artisanal work and some humorous stuff made in nearby states as well. They have some real good kombucha made over in KC in the cooler. I got the blueberry and really liked it. I am on a low carb diet so I'm fairly picky about drinks and was pleased to find it was pretty low sugar.
Joseph was working the counter at the time and was extremely helpful to an out-of-towner like me. He gave some interesting info about the Mercantile and which items were local, as well as which other sights in town were worth a stop. He was also hand stamping the coffee cups and I thought that was pretty darn cool. I didn't have time to stop in Humboldt on my way back to Texas, but next time I take the trip up I will be stopping again to try their coffee!! Such a cool little place, worth the peruse and I enjoyed getting my official Kansas bumper sticker from here. Shop local!
It was really cold outside and nowhere to go coz husband is working and I wasn’t aware about the weather.I went to google map and walked through here for 5mins.Gosh it was the best feeling,to get warmth after the freezing cold outside.Very nice coffee shop. The scent inside was awesome due to organic made body products.Dont forget to give points to the crew here.Hes so nice!
I was born and raised in Humboldt and I was very pleased with all the new things going on. This shop rates up there with any coffee shop I've visited in Denver. GREAT 👍🏽
Friendly staff and cozy, comfortable, bright and cherry atmo! Good coffee too. I like the bar seating at the window. Looking forward to returning and studying at the window.
Great place for young people, and that is what all small towns need and even if you don't drink coffee they have other things to drink and they were good , remember young ones are the future of this great country. Country boy from okla Bob
Great little coffee shop! Wonderful drinks at a good price, plus a nice little novelty Mercantile store too. It's a frequent visit for my wife and me. We love the coffee/smoothies as well as the items sold in the store. We've bought some housewares for our kitchen and I got a nice Opinel knife that my wife convinced me to get. Such a cool and modern atmosphere that is surprising in a small town like Humboldt. Also the indie type music they play is great!
This place is fantastic! The atmosphere is great and everything I've ever had food-wise is awesome, from bakery items to coffee to smoothies. They have unique items for sale, too!
I stopped in while visiting at Christmas. Neat shop! I bought many things, one being a bath bomb. OMGoodness! It lasted longer than my hot water! Over 15 minutes! My skin feels smooth and my entire house smells great now! I fully recommend this store for local products!
