One of the few coffee shops in downtown Cedar Rapids to serve decent espresso drinks. Pastries are so-so and bagels are sometimes burnt. The ambiance is moderate. They have a light part, which feels a bit sterile, like a fast-food place, and a darker part, which is a little too dark. I would only grab coffee there, but not spend time.

Love this place. I go almost every week with my lap top and work to get done. The atmosphere is great and the prices are crazy low for how delicious everything is. I've been quoted saying they have the best chai tea latte I've ever tasted.

I have gone to Blue Strawberry for over a year. I have my usual go to meal, and recently had it and it was not up to par. Since I know it is a favorite of mine and normally delish, I contacted Blue Strawberry to let them know. Wesley responded almost immediately and rectified the situation. As I knew...it was a 'one off'...problem. What I did learn is that there is something else on the breakfast menu that i ALSO now like, that is high protein....so I learned something new. Blue Strawberry cares about their customers. Thanks Wesley and staff.

My cappuccino was bitter, too hot, and milk was too foamy. Cinnamon roll was just okay. Please free your 'surface of the sun' hot coffee from its styrofoam cup prisons.

The staff was also impersonal all the way from taking my order to pick up. They call your name on a PA system (very weird, felt like an old Burger King). I went to pick up my order which was on the far side of the counter. When I kindly asked if it was mine, the young woman said yes, but then just stood there and didn't even try to move my items to my side of the counter. Just kind of awkward.

Seems a nice place for a coffee work or networking meeting or to grab a more substantial meal, but I was not impressed at all, especially given its central location downtown. Definitely better coffee shops in CR. Try Brewhemia or Brewed Awakenings.

I used to love The Blue Strawberry. I rarely go there anymore. I was at the library yesterday getting some work done and contemplated eating at one of the food trucks around Greene Square Park, but chose to go to the Blue Strawberry instead.

The place was empty at 12:30 pm on a Friday, which was odd. I remember they used to be packed at lunch time.

I ordered a chicken fajita wrap with Cole slaw. They used to give you your food on trays. Instead, I was handed a plain brown paper sack. I took the sack to my table and found my wrap was wrapped all right, in paper. No biggie, until I took the paper off and the thing fell apart. It wasn't a wrap, it was a salad on a small tortilla. There were a few pieces of chicken with no marinade or seasoning and a few raw red peppers. When I think of fajitas, I expect the meat to be seasoned or marinated. The rest of the mess was made up of huge pieces of lettuce and drenched in some kind of southwest salad dressing. Like I said, this wasn't a wrap, it was a salad with a small tortilla. I liked it all right. Just don't really agree that a salad drenched in southwest dressing can be called "fajita".

In the paper bag I also found this skinny little warm and limp pickle, wrapped up like a mummy in plastic. They used to have big, crisp pickles they'd put on the side of your meal, not some sad little thing wrapped up and shoved at the bottom of a sack. It tasted okay, but it was soft and soggy.

The Cole slaw was disgusting. Very bitter and sour. Even though it came in a dinky little container, I couldn't finish it.

Maybe I'll try them again one day. Probably not anytime soon.

I always come back to this place when I'm in town. Just had an amazing biscuits and gravy dish for under 4 bucks. That and in-house roasted coffee makes this one of my favorite breakfast places in Cedar Rapids.

Kind staff, and the coffee is pretty good too. They also have a decent selection for wine and beers and can accommodate a larger group. Nice and laid back area creviced into the downtown area of Cedar Rapids. Not the best, but still a good option for your caffeinated fix.

The food was ok, but the etiquette of the employees made this my first and last trip to the establishment. For the price of a sandwich and side pricing between 8-11 dollars, I was better off going to subway.

You have to try the Mike Gary wrap! The Blue Strawberry is a great place to grab breakfast or mid-morning snack with a coworker -- a tasty way to get business done.
Admittedly, every time I go there I think the wait shouldn't be as long, but then I take my first sip/bite and realize it was worth the extra minute.

I love the salads for lunch - especially the Polynesian. For coffee, I like the Americano. Overall I like this place but I do wish they'd offer paper cups instead of Styrofoam for those days I forget a reusable mug.
