Had a great cappuccino early one morning while reading there before work. Comfy seating, good atmosphere, guy behind the counter could have been a bit nicer but overall a great shop

Great beatnik coffee shop and bar. Good vibe.

Didn't have coffee but enjoyed the late night bevs. Staff was knowledgeable of what I wanted based on questions I asked. Highly recommend monk's as a place to spend the night if you're looking for a low key, casual night.

I’m English, so I’m fussy about my ale. This place is the best bar in Dubuque. A fantastic selection. Friendly locals and solid bar staff.

Wow. This place is about 25% 1990's coffee shop; 25% college basement party; and 50% super cozy bar with a killer beer selection. I stopped there on a whim (it was raining and in running distance from my car) and am so glad that I did.

Monks is open for a good portion of the day and is a great place to go hang out with friends or to get some work done. They have local art, comfortable seating, and a great atmosphere.

Visited here for a quick black coffee on a trip from the QC. Yummy and reasonably priced with a great atmosphere. Reminds me of my favorite kaffe bar in the QC, Rozz Tox!

Best coffee I've ever had. Super friendly bartender, too! Definitely a new favourite spot to chill with a couple friends.

I love Monks. I would live here if I could. Warm, cozy, awesome music, very tasty drinks, and an assortment of fresh baked goods from East Mill Bakery up on Grandview. Whether you live in Dubuque or you're just passing through, Monks is the place to be.
