One of my very favorite places in the Des Moines metro! Great coffee, wonderful breakfast and lunch menu, and good WiFi & chill tunes. Also, their mission is a wonderful reason to support them.

New favorite coffee shop in DSM. Love the rustic atmosphere and plenty of space. Coffee is fantastic. Most of all, I love the cause and knowing what my purchase is supporting. Definitely check it out.

One of Des Moines gems. Freedom blend is managed and run by young people under an excellent mentorship program. They are part of the Freedom for Youth ministry which helps younger people develop skills to lead and start their own businesses in a variety of careers while learning about faith, community, and making a difference. Money always well spent!

I had a great experience at Freedom Blend. The dirty chai was great and the customer service was awesome! I love what this business stands for and will definitely be returning!

Excellent cafe. Such a nice interior with many seating options. Free wifi, too! The coffee didn't taste out of this world or anything but it was economical and satisfactory.

I will note that this cafe is very explicity a Christian cafe. I personally thought it was nice because of my spiritual background but you may not enjoy it if religion is not your thing.

Overall, cool spot for coffee. Bigger bonus if you're into faith.

Freedom Coffee has a kiosk at the hospital where I work. It's awesome! Mijo and Malea are my favorite baristas. They are friendly and make my coffee with care! I wish they had cold brew though...but having them there and the level of professionalism is so appreciated!

Very nice coffee shop. Comfortable rustic atmosphere, barista was friendly. I had a hot chocolate and muffin, which were good, and my friend's breakfast sandwich and potatoes looked great too. I also noticed that they had coloring materials set out for children. There was plenty of space options of different types of seating. Definitely a place I would go back to. I also love their connection to non-profit Freedom for Youth and their goal to train young people in job skills. A great way to support the community and get a nice breakfast or snack!

Freedom is an amazing shop! The employees are amazing. The food is always fresh. Coffee is great. Options are good. The building is amazing! Local history. Music is motivating. We go to have bible studies here.
Our church groups love this place! Very open to all who want to visit.

Great coffee shop!

Espresso: the espresso was the perfect balance between bright and sweet and just a little smoky. Not bitter at all. The Ethiopia pourover was also solid. Also, prices are excellent for the quality.

Roaster: I talked to JohnPaul for a bit about his roasting and he seems very enthusiastic about improving his roast and trying new things which is critical for any roaster no matter how much experience they have. Ruts are very dangerous for roasters.

Environment: I've been sitting here studying for 3 hours and I'm still not sore. :) The seats are very comfortable and the shop is spacious

I wish they had a few unique seasonal espresso drinks but that's a pretty minor thing. Great coffee shop!
