Wow I was pleasantly surprised here. Great food. Nice staff. Menu is limited but I was still stuck trying to decide between several options. Yumm!

Love this place. The food is fresh and tasty, high-quality with much of it sourced by local farms. Nice location on the west side of downtown close to other good eating spots. The atmosphere is a good mixture of warm/inviting and also clean/modern. Even though it's newly opened, the service was quick and friendly.

But here's the best part: the pay-it-forward mission. Instead of adding tip to your payment, you can tap a button and choose a level to add to their pay-it-forward fund which sponsors free meals for people who might not be able to afford a nice lunch. Anybody who wants to eat there for free just picks up one of the free meal cards and hands it to the cashier.

Plus, the whole place is run by Matthew 25, which is a great organization that does a lot of good in the community.

Omelettes are wonderful... Coffee is very good, and they offer French press and a bunch of different coffees. This place is awesome. Give it a try.

I believe I've reviewed Groundswell before, but I'll say again that this is one of my favorite places to go in Cedar Rapids. Their food is wholesome, delicious, and filling. The staff are very nice people and never make me feel embarrassed that I frequently can't afford a meal. Their pay-it-forward program is seriously a life saver. I only would have been able to eat chips for lunch today if this cafe didn't exist.

Delicious food with a great mission backing them! All tips go into their “pay it forward” find which allows members of the community to grab a bite to eat for a free or reduced price. Their networking cafe is also a great place to go if you’re stuck at home and need a new environment for creative thinking

Really cute atmosphere! You can get unlimited refills of coffee for a flat rate of $2.50, lots of tables, quiet music, and a great place to study and write papers at. So many of the coffee shops in Cedar Rapids are too busy and play really loud music. It's hard to get any studying done. Will be back again.

“Pay it Forward” farm-to-table restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch. The menu includes many fresh, tasty soups, salads, wraps, and omelettes. A limited selection of bakery items are available, too. The workers at the café are super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Some of my favorite items include the veggie omelette with vegan cheese, tofu, mushrooms, spinach, and sweet potato; salad with peanut dressing; and the new falafel wrap. Parking is easily available in front of the restaurant. I highly recommend it, and hope you enjoy your visits as much as I do!

I LOVE this place! They've got good coffee and great food at an affordable price while supporting the Cedar Rapids community!

Groundswell Cafe was pretty laid back! It was my first time going, but I felt relaxed and welcomed! I was even asked if I'd like to perform? I wasn't prepared at the time, but I do look forward to sharing my talent very soon! I've been looking for an Open Mike night in Iowa for the longest and I think I've finally found it!!😊😊😎😎
