Hitherto Coffee and Gaming Parlour

What a cool concept! Was looking for a place to work remotely for the day on the way back from Chicago and so happy I found this place. Was packed for a weekday morning and stays open later than most coffee shops. Saw people coming in to a variety of board/card games or just coming to chat. Eclectic selection of drinks - including health elixir lattes and a killer ginger beer. I am not much a pastry person, but the spinach pie baked good I got was out if this world. Wifi was fast and plenty of room to spread out to get a quieter corner. Employees were very friendly too and didn’t mind me camping out for the day.

I tried the Pecan Hot Chocolate that I had seen featured on Fox59. Yumm! 😀 The atmosphere was comfortable and the staff was very helpful & friendly.. I will be taking my grandkids back for hot chocolate or a munchie & some games..

LOVED this place! What a great idea to be able to shop for or play games while enjoying a coffee. Friendly staff. Great location. The hand pies we had for breakfast were not the best, but overall, it was a great experience. We will return.

The Bad: it’s not open on Sunday

This is a one of a kind business that combines a fantastic coffee with a nice board game shop. Many gaming places have a “friends basement” sort of feel. Hitherto feels like an upscale coffee place with some large tables and extra nooks. The whole place was designed with a great deal of care so that it feels more like a British Club than a basement. The coffee has very good beans and great flavors. The snacks are extraordinary with the sausage and gravy hand pie being my favorite.

I had a fantastic first experience this evening. The espresso was delicious and they had the best games in stock! I couldn’t ask for a better visit. I will definitely be back!

Hitherto is EASILY one of my favorite coffee shops. The atmosphere is always great, they have great staff & you can genuinely tell they all enjoy what they do. Kevin is very knowledgeable about all the games & coffee in store.
They also have superb tea (cinnamon plum is my go-to)

Huge board game selection and their mocha frape is 10x better than Starbucks. Really nice environment and the baristas are always friendly.

Goodness, I love this place. Every single thing I've had --both beverages and food-- has been delicious. Their service is speedy, yet somehow they still take their time to make sure sure each cup they serve is perfect. All the employees are cheerful and helpful, and make an effort to get to know you. I've also purchased several board games per their recommendations and our family loves them all. Hitherto is a real treasure!

The best coffee shop around! If you love coffee or games you have to check Hitherto out! If you love both, then you've just found your spot. Fun for a date and a great place to spend quality time with your kids. The staff is always very friendly and helpful and the owners are lovely people.
