The staff is always friendly and welcoming. Whether you're looking for a snarky card for your BFF, a locally crafted gift, or something a bit more Evansville-centric, you'll find it, and delicious coffee at River City. I love that the business owner is committed and invested in the betterment of our community.

The baristas are kind of mean and they don’t tell you that milk alternatives are a additional fee. I like the shop though!
Edit: even when I get a coffee without syrup I'm charged a dollar more than the menus listed price not including tax when I request a dairy alternative. I even got the same drink with cows milk to compare and the dairy drink was cheaper.

Evansville’s go to coffee and gift shop, River City balances being a meeting place downtown with well executed coffee from Quills, as well as a gift shop with Evansville focused swag and crafty items from bespoke suppliers who deal directly with Heather and Clint. Check their place out and you’ll enjoy the experience I’m sure.

Excellent pour over and cold brew coffee, staff is knowledgeable and friendly but never condescending. They'll geek out with you if you want, but are just as comfortable quietly making you a great cup. Coffee served here is consistently the best I've had in Evansville.
Still going strong despite the pandemic, still providing excellent coffee and service. They also have a really well curated selection of unique gifts that would be tough to find all in one place.

Delicious coffee, great customer service and the cutest shop filled with unique items. I buy a lot of gifts there (and treats for me.) Great local merch, wonderful place to take out of towners!

One of my favorite downtown shops. So many fun items!

New in town, heard about this place from my apartment building so I went to check it out. The baristas were not very friendly and did not say hi when I entered. One was more interested in her phone, the other one was was polite. The coffee was alright, 16oz is a large here. Overall it’s fine but not what I’d expect from a highly recommended local coffee shop. I wouldn’t go out of my way to get this coffee.

River City was a neat place with many Evansville goods as well as coffee! Christmas shopping is a must here.

Avoid at all costs. I did an instacart order for one of their "milk runs" awhile back and they made me bring 50 milk cartons to their back door and then took my tip away afterward. I didn't do anything wrong and I went through hell trying to get their milk delivered in a timely manner.. If they treat random people like that, I can promise you their business ethics aren't up to par either. Make your baristas do the work. You pay them to do that. Choose Starbucks or donut bank. Atleast they treat people with class. Supporting a local business is one thing, but when they treat their customers and employees like trash, there's really no point to shop local.

A great place to get some caffeine in your system and browse a variety of gift shop items when you're in downtown Evansville. A nice, relaxing atmosphere with friendly employees.
