I have always loved Gloria Jeans Coffee, but this is one of the hands down worst experiences with customer service I’ve ever had. I am not in Peoria very often, and I didn’t know Northwoods had gotten GJ back. I was really excited, we all ordered our coffee and were waiting. While we were waiting, my sister was looking at the mugs they have on display, cute two-packs with sayings on each side. She picks up one of the boxes, and as soon as she picks it up one of the mugs promptly falls out and breaks. She didn’t touch the mug. It was either packaged poorly or a previous customer had taken it out to look at it and didn’t put it in properly.
We go up to one of the guys working (this happened last week on Wednesday October 17th around 2:30pm, two guys were working, a tall red head and a shorter Asian guy) and told him what happened, and it wasn’t her fault. He immediately just kind of stutters “uhhh” and gets the other guy who looks at it and goes “well it has to be paid for.” We were dumbfounded. My sister said “If it was my fault I would understand and be more than willing to pay for it.” We point blank asked: we have to pay for someone else’s mistake and your mediocrity of checking your goods? And he told us yes. If he could change it, he would. And I immediately told him he can, he is just choosing not to, which they retaliated with something along the lines of “We don’t have a manager on duty.”
That’s not my problem. If you care so little about your company that you don’t have a manager on duty and you are charging customers to pay for items that broke for THE EMPLOYEES negligence, that is frankly unacceptable. I will praise your company in a heartbeat if your employees are great and do a great job, but I will also not hesitate to call your company and write a poor review when something was handled so poorly.
In hindsight, we should have just walked out without paying but we were flustered. Gloria Jeans, I am incredibly disappointed in your standards and ethics. We found out very clearly how you hold your customers and how much you really care. You lost more than one great customer that day.

My sister in law and niece came here. They ordered their drinks and everything ready on the counter but the card machine was down. She had $20 on her but the total was $20.07 and the person working wouldn’t let her take it without the $.07. Absolutely ridiculous.

Coffee is the best in town but they never open on time. Your website says open at 10a.m. Monday thru Saturday. They open late daily and it's frustrating. If your hours are not correct online update them and put your hours on the door!

My sisters, niece, and I come in and some ladies don’t require us to wear masks but a man in a long curly pony tail told my sister visiting from South Carolina if she didn’t show a card for a medical condition(illegal) all 4 of us had to leave.
Everytime we come to the mall this is no longer a consistent stop everytime. We’re done with this customer service!

Amazing drinks, but the tall red headed man making our drinks was full of attitude and was very annoyed when we asked for no whip cream on 2/3 of our drinks. The cashier was nice and respectful, so it's a shame she has to work with such a rude guy.

Went in and asked for a French vanilla coffee the worker told me I had to choose one of the two flavors of the day and that’s all they could offer me, even tho I always snag the same coffee all the time, and have never had a problem. Will not be returning.
