Hmmm, I think I had an atypically meh experience here. They had a line of 9 or 10 people (4 or 5 tables-worth) when we showed up on a Sunday afternoon and seemed overwhelmed.
The place is definitely cute and a nice place to spend some time in, but service-wise, they have a lot of room to grow. A server just came out and announced what food he had in his hands to all of us sitting at several tables, instead of noting or remember who'd ordered what. They didn't move the order line very fast, or greet the folks in the back of the line when they first came in. I know it's a cafe and not a restaurant but the food service was just awkward :(.
The grub was decent, especially for the area. We ordered four paninis and all were fine. WISH THERE PLATES INSTEAD OF CUTTING BOARDS. That's such a dummm hipster thing. The chips were boring but that's okay. The soup was lame and lukewarm. Coffee was great!
it was okay. everything was overpriced for me. i loved the vibe and the eclectic feel of it all, but i just felt really out of place with the modern hipster vibe. if you're into that, you'd love it. perhaps i'll be back and give it another try.
Come hear for the latte art, stay for the great crepes.
Gotta get at least one of their picturesque lattes for the photo. But make sure to get one of their amazing crepes. (The lattes taste just a good as they look!)
I love the soup recipes from the owner's mom and the "toasts"-one slice of yummy whole grain bread schmeared with your choice of toppings like dill cream cheese and avocado..my favorite . Metric coffee brewed in Chicago and freshly brewed teas are great and unusual, particularly in a food dessert like Kankakee.
Great local coffeehouse. Finally Kankakee has real coffee and tea. Locally roasted options with short but great food menu. Top marks. Looking forward to a long friendship.
I love this place! It's a great place to catch up with a friend, grab a bite to eat, or study. The staff are all very personable and the drinks are always great.
Wonderful little bright spot in this town. My go-to for coffee everytime- alone or with friends. On the spot, delicious coffee and yummy breakfasts! Thank you Stefari for existing! Don't ever leave!!!!
I had the Turkey brie apple panini and it was ok. However, their soup of the day was disappointing. It was luke warm and had a distinct taste that left a bad taste in my mouth. The staff and atmosphere was wonderful though.
Ordered two lunches and two coffee drinks online, scheduled for pickup and everything was ready and waiting when I showed up. Food and drinks were well prepared, employees prompt and courteous. Thank you Stefari!

Pleasant cafe with great coffee in a renovated historical theater.
