Awesome coffee, reasonable prices, and great staff.

My favorite coffee shop around. Great fresh roasted beans, knowledgeable staff and a really laid back place to hangout, work, study or people watch. They have a wonderful selection of teas, baked goods and really cool stickers and t shirts. Thursdays the whole beans are two dollars off and along with both a bean and beverage loyalty program they know how to take care of regulars.

One of my fave coffee places! The coffee is great and they sell hand pies that are tasty

Hands down the best mocha I've ever had. This coffee shop will serve up quality brews for each and every one of its customers. I had the opportunity to meet and talk with the owner of the Metropolis brand, and his brilliance trickles down into his coffee brewing expertise. An excellent brew, much better than any of those corporate cups!

A cup of hot coco, a butter croissant, and a good book and you can stay for hours. The food at this hipster joint is very good and reasonably priced. The workers are some of the coolest people I have ever met and the decor is crazy good. Definitely my favorite coffee place in the city!

I've been coming back to Metropolis Coffee for years. They continually improve the cafe, and the service is always prompt and friendly. The coffee drinks, of course, are excellent. And you can always get freshly-roasted beans there, too.
As for how they've improved the cafe, they haven't been afraid to change-up the seating arrangements to give people enough space to sit comfortably. They've also gone through a couple of different approaches to providing free wifi, and seem to have found a good approach. The wifi is plenty fast even when there are lots of people there, and it is reliable.
The owners are there pretty regularly, too. Just this morning one of the owners, Jeff, noticed that I was looking to get some beans and chatted with me about the different coffees that they had for sale that day. He helped me pick something that he thought I might like.
It is clear that he and his son take pride in their coffees and in their cafe. Their care for what they do kind of filters down throughout the whole shop. :)

Too Busy, but nice and cozy.

You guys need to place a sign that says "Stay behind red line while ordering." It's confusing, and the baristas are super passive aggressive about it. Everytime I've visited, someone makes that mistake. Maybe put a physical barrier? Its annoying and makes me not want to come back.Other than that, their espresso is pretty good.

Personally, I've always preferred a place like this over a place like Starbucks. Don't get me wrong. Starbucks is a great place, but its way too big and commerical. This is a medium size local coffee house with a good ethos around how they get their coffee . They also sell it. Everyone that works there is always nice and willing to suggest something. Quick service. Great atmosphere. Overall, my favorite coffee place when I went to Loyola.

Coffee is delicous, they have nice pastries as well and its a nice place to sit and read inside. Ambiance is pleasant and its a cosy place to spend a few hours. Staff is always super friendly.
