Review of La Colombe Coffee Roasters

La Colombe Coffee Roasters is a trendy coffee shop and roastery located at 858 W Armitage Ave, Chicago, Illinois. This fashionable space is known for serving house-brand artisanal coffee, pastries, and snacks.

Their coffee is exceptional, with customers raving about the quality and flavor. Many have mentioned that the coffee at La Colombe is far superior to other popular coffee chains. The draft lattes, in particular, have received high praise for their foamy smoothness and delicious taste.

Aside from their coffee, La Colombe also offers a variety of pastries and snacks to complement your beverage. Customers have recommended trying the iced oat milk vanilla latte, which is a fan favorite.

The staff at La Colombe Coffee Roasters is known for being friendly and professional. They provide excellent customer service and are always willing to answer any questions you may have about their coffee offerings.

The cafe has a trendy and cozy atmosphere, making it a popular spot for locals and visitors alike. However, it can get quite busy on weekends, with lines sometimes extending out onto the streets. Inside, the noise level can be a bit high, which may not be ideal for those seeking a quiet work environment.

La Colombe Coffee Roasters operates from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM on weekdays and from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM on weekends. Unfortunately, they do not offer WiFi, which may be a drawback for those looking to work or browse the internet while enjoying their coffee.

If you're looking for a trendy coffee shop with exceptional coffee and friendly staff, La Colombe Coffee Roasters is definitely worth a visit.

As a former barista, I like to try out different coffee places around me. At my old job we used La Colombe coffee beans, and it was good. The store itself is very pretty to the eye, but the options and the prices don't add up. I like options and what we got was ok not worth the $12 we paid for 2 things.

Overall it is a good coffee shop and brand, but the store at a packed time is less than welcoming and the slim options suggest a mpre niche customer base. Check it out though to try the coffee at least.

They close at 6. But at 5:30 they turn off all the lights, put away all the stools, and stop making drafts of all kinds. So wouldn’t it make more sense to just close at 5:30…?? A long time favorite completely ruined for me because of the attitude and poor service in this location

Best coffee in the city imho. Even just a regular drip coffee is worth the trip. The red eye will wake you right up! Plus, I really appreciate that they have almond milk for those of us who need it!!

Friendly service. I recommend the half calf draft latte thing! Soooo good.

If you want just a SOLID coffee. Simple. To the point. Love this coffee. Only place I like my coffee black!

The latte at La Colombe is very good. Although they don't have internet and the space inside is not that big, quality of the coffee and snacks makes up for it. Although I haven't tried that cold brews here, I believe they are good too.

I love how they open early and their spot on coffee making technique. As a European I can rarely find good coffee (espresso) in Chicago. Highly recommend. Needs more plants inside according to me 😊

I came on a busy Saturday afternoon when the place was jam-packed, but I shuffled through the crowd to the counter and ordered a cup of coffee anyway. It was a regular brew, and it was excellent--good and strong, but not the least bit bitter, as it usually tends to be in lesser places. I was disappointed that they only had half and half in the cream dispenser, but Trebor, the nice manager, offered to top off my cup with hot milk, which I really appreciated. That was a nice gesture. Customer service is stellar: I hadn't expected a cafe in this upscale area to be so customer-oriented and friendly (you won't find any hoity-toity employees in this cafe, thank heavens). Then, not finding anywhere to sit, I was once again helped by Trebor, who suggested I sit near the large window--the one with the nice view overlooking the street that happens to be located right next to one of the bathrooms. I took his advice and sat me down and stretched my legs out on the window seat, and as far as I'm concerned, it's the best seat in the house. I enjoyed myself so much, I stopped by again the next day, and was served by Melissa and Ralph. Again, customer service was tops. This time I had the almond croissant with my superb brewed coffee, and it was as good as any I'd ever had. As on the previous day, I sat down on the quiet, secluded window seat and enjoyed a lovely cupper and pastry as I looked out the window, and mused, and chilled out. Highly recommended for wonderful coffee and pastries, and an environment to match.

Sweetened draft latte was delicious! Coffee flavor is just strong enough without being sour or bitter! La Colombe is so far one of the only 'artisan' coffeehouses I've liked !

High quality coffee shop with a lot of character.

I strictly drink espresso (With the exception of a Military Late from Swada) and have had shots at dozens of coffee shops in Chicago. La Colombe has amazing espresso, second only to Three Greens Market in River North.

They have a couple locations and this one is definetely the classiest. Great place to stop whilst shopping around Armitage for a quick pick-me-up!
