I don’t usually care if baristas are nice or not, as long as my coffee is good. However, the baristas here have always been great, so I have to care about it now. 10/10

The BEST food and coffee! You definitely have to try a kolache! The staff is very nice and the ambiance is fantastic

A good place to grab a bite or a cup of coffee. It can get crowded but I visited during the day on weekdays. 10 or less seats available fyi. 😉

Loved the place and the coffee.

Nice place. Not the best to work on your laptop since it has only 5 tables. Coffee is what you expect.

Just wanted to leave a shout out to Max and Emma for being knowledgable, skilled, and kind Baristas. I work in the area and have been coming in every week for the past 2 months, and they have been always on top of their game. Today I got an small iced Americano made with a SO Colombian spro that was damn delicious with its notes of citrus, floral and brown sugar. Max and Emma dialed it in to perfection. Will definitely keep coming back! Thanks for keeping me not only caffeinated, but ethically conscious and appreciative of the coffee I’m drinking!

I am from Miami and had to be in this part of Chicago for about a week. We have very good coffee in Miami that is perfect, strong and not too much sugar.. wonderful for tired moms. I would always come to this coffee shop in the West loop with a stroller during the week when I visited this area.
Of course in Miami we have such great coffee but the names are in Spanish, such as Cafe con Leche. I am an English speaker but I am only used to the strong coffee with great taste over there. I am not a fan of too much sugar in coffee, for some reason I feel sick after I drink too much sugar in coffee and we also have great tasting coffee without this high amount of sugar in Miami.
Since I was used to ordering coffee that was typical in Miami, I wasn't sure what to order when I came to this place and would just ask for a latte because I thought this was the closest in translation to what I wanted, "Cafe con Leche" means coffee with milk.
The only thing I asked for to go with it was almond milk and warm, then wait to see what happens. To my surprise, even though I am picky with coffee at least for my taste they made something very quick and good quality that never disappointed me. It always felt like it was made with care. I would eat it outside on the bench with my toddler. The bathrooms are always clean, which I really appreciated.
I would go there in my stroller and order a morning meal with coffee. I would tell them I'm going to the restroom with my toddler, then get the meal and eat it outside. Very nice experience. I like paying for a good quality coffee in a place that I feel comfortable even though I am not a local there. Thank you again for the clean bathrooms and good attitude from the people working there. A guy with glasses and a ponytail was very nice when I got rained on and went back there to eat since we left our car in Florida.

I love going to Groundswell in the morning! The coffee is always amazing, whether I'm getting a drip coffee, pour-over, or a cold brew. As a teacher, it's the perfect morning stop for caffeine. Plus, they have been adding more and more gluten-free goodies. I recently tried their sparkling black iced tea and it was exactly what I was looking for! Thank you for continuing to be one of my favorite coffee shops!

A very chill spot. A great study space even if it is a little small. Super cozy!!
