The National

Food was great and I had a great time dining.
Their lunch menu is relatively small so I would like see what dinner is like.
Overall quality food and great vibe.
Servers were excellent and very courteous.
There are outdoor areas but it was a bit windy so we decided to stay indoors.
They have a bar area as well.

Colorful, curated menu. Fun, calming ambiance with an aviation influence. Grilled beef hanger steak = perfect. Our table greatly enjoyed the Patatas Bravas, although I'd recommend ordering two if you have a bigger party (they went quick!). Endless wine menu with international options. Hidden gem in Athens!

Our party of 4 ate dinner here & all of us got sick. My husband became nauseated even before we left & we thought it was a virus or something else but that night all 4 ended up with intestinal issues - some more violent than others. 🤮 We wouldn’t wish this on anyone. I don’t think we’ll be going back anytime soon - if ever.

Great if you're a college student or don't mind the deafening conversations. Service is slow and the menu is all Ala carte'. You have to request bread which you then have to pay for.

Wonderful dinning experience. You can really tell this restaurant has a beyond transactional relationship with produce. Also, really loved the timing of the meal, the food came in a very intentional pace.

We had the most amazing experience here during Athens Restaurant Week. Erica made our meal extra special, offering the best recommendations for cocktails and wine. Can’t wait to come again! Erin sat us and checked in on us too, she is so cool and smart!

The wahoo was overcooked and so was the pork tenderloin. Not much flavor in either one. I hot super hyped up for this place and then let down terribly. Also got the famous home fry dish and it just wasn't very good. Sorry for the awful review but I was just very disappointed in mine and my wife's anniversary dinner.

This was our first experience dining inside since the Delta and Omicron surges and not only did the National go out of their way to make us feel safe (open windows and masked patrons/staff 😊), the food was outstanding! This is THE place to come for locally sourced fare prepared perfectly, creatively, and off the charts yummy! The service was spot on. We will definitely be back and will highly recommend this location to everyone we know visiting Athens. Thank you!

Very impressed with dinner Saturday night. The crispy potatoes are even better than mashed potatoes. Great attention to detail to all of our orders and excellent service. I was told Chicks Fish was the best restaurant in Athens but would very much disagree. The National is prides themselves on the ingredients they used and will definitely come back. Not inexpensive but worth it. They do have a small menu that changes but that is understandable.

Some of the finest cuisine in Athens and as good as you'll find anywhere in cities 10 times the size. Exceptional service and outstanding coctails. One of my go-to restaurants whenever I'm in town!
