I have been a customer here for a while and have enjoyed the ambiance and coffee. However when I stopped by recently I noticed that *none* of the baristas are following current basic CDC guidelines for safe food handling by wearing masks or changing gloves during Covid19. This surprised me since wearing a mask is the least we can all be doing to protect our neighbors. You would think that with such a large elderly population in Stuart that they would be taking every precaution to ensure that their customers are protected as much as possible. It’s unfortunate but I will be taking my business elsewhere to other businesses who are more sensitive and aware of the current pandemic situation. It seems to be an indication that they disregard safety handling in other aspects of their food business as well. Very disappointed because I want to support small businesses as much as possible in this crisis, but not at my own risk.

As tourists, I told my wife and daughters that we would absolutely not visit any franchise estsblishments or chains while in town. That being said, we decided to patronize your establishment this morning and the experience was terrible. From the moment we walked in with children, the girl who took our order looked at us condescendingly with every word out of our mouths. Her attitude was absolutely atrocious. Then when my wife was given her hot coffee, they put 2 sleeves on it instead of the single one. Normally not a big deal, but when one sleeve slides through the other sleeve and causes hot coffee to spill on my wife's hand, it becomes a big deal. Not only did the error in sleeving the hot cup cause the issue, when I asked the same girl with the bad attitude for some ice to be put into the napkins I had put on the counter, she gave me a barely audible "sorry bout that" while rolling her eyes as she turned away from me. As someone who was trying to support local small businesses, this was disheartening. And also a prime reason for us to go somewhere where customer service is valued. The coffee was simply ehhh. The blueberry muffin however was the only decent part of our visit to Stuart Coffee Company.

Wonderful place to go in downtown Stuart. My favorite place to go for an açaí bowl with the most delicious house made granola. I used to go to 3 Natives all the time for açaí but the granola are Stuart Coffee house it to die for, I could eat a whole bowl of it if I could!

I really have enjoyed my coffee from this shop. I always buy my espresso and ground coffee beans here. Today I have decided that I will not be going back, and will find another coffee shop to frequent. I had my boyfriend stop buy on his way home from work (we live in Port St Lucie and work in West Palm Beach) so there was no way I was going to make it before they closed from work. He made a special trip out there only to find that they closed early! Really awful, as he wasted all the gas for nothing! If you say you're open until a certain time - mean it! really disappointed as the coffee was so good.

The Stuart Coffee Company is located in a historic building downtown Stuart next to the Lyric Theater. It has two entrances so you can come in from the front or the back. The interior is cozy with a lot of decorative nods to Stuarts farming history. The shop has a very hometown feel to it. It's a place where you get beverages like coffee from around the world, espresso, specialty coffee drink, frappes, smoothies, beer or wine Food options include baked goods, sandwiches, bagels, acai bowls, wraps, salads and paninis.
Stuart Coffee also acts as a consignment art gallery for local artists. Art events, live music, and game nights are hosted throughout the year. Plenty of seating and tables makes it the perfect place to work or catch up with friends. Games and books are located on a shelf for your entertainment.
On my visit I had a delicious cappuccino and a build your own grilled cheese with turkey and mozzarella for $12. My only criticism is their refusal to go to move away from plastic and offer paper straws. For instance I ate my sandwich in the shop. They could have easily served it on a plate instead of a plastic box that was thrown away. I would have liked a mug for my coffee too, not a paper cup and plastic top. Stuart makes a lot of money from tourists who come to enjoy the water front town. You would think they would want to help keep the water ways and sea life healthy which is what attracts people to the area. I urge them to rethink their position on the issue.

If you are visiting Stuart, this is the place to go to get local flavor. First I would like to explain. Stuart is not a manufactured bedroom community. It was not created in the last few decades by New Yorkers looking for warm weather. Stuart is over 100 years old with a unique downtown and people who have lived there for decades. These people meet at Stuart Coffee. Bill, the owner is invested in the community, owning another store as well. One day we were talking and I said to him that I finally figured out why I like Stuart Coffee so much. It is the only place for miles that I can get fresh bagels (Starbucks are made thousands of miles away and frozen) and ground fresh coffee with non freeze dried beans brewed by someone who knows coffee at one place.
On any given morning you will find the local downtown association meeting there. Local shop owners meet there. If you are not from Stuart feel free to join in the conversation. You might even want to tear up your ticket to that sterile suburban place you live and enjoy life the way it meant to live. Human to human in a small town.

The best frozen frappe I've ever had! We had a mocha with almond milk and a mocha with coconut milk! Incredible coffee! Friendly staff and very cozy atmosphere!

An excellent alternative to Starbucks. Coffee is good, food is varied and reasonably priced. Try the smoothies and the salads! Another favorite are the wraps, for breakfast or lunch. There is outside seating and inside. Dogs are welcome outside : =} Open morning thru early evening.
