Highly recommend! Welcoming staff and Michael the owner is fantastic! Delicious bagels and cream cheese made in house and so much more! A MUST stop place to grab coffee and a bite. Art gallery is a bonus while you’re here!

Last year (May ‘22), my wife and I enjoyed a lovely stay at the Casa Monica. Laura and I are early birds, so when we were ready for a 7AM coffee, the only option we could find via Yelp was Sweetwater Coffee Bar and Gallery, across the street. We fell in love instantly, and continue to make the spontaneous 35 minute drive periodically from our home in RiverTown.
The charm, where an art gallery meets a coffee and breakfast joint, provides instant comfort. Sweetwater is a family-owned and ran establishment as the father Mike oversees the kitchen for the restaurant that displays his wife and daughter’s artistic creations.
The coffee flavors are just as impressive as the art hanging from the walls and ceiling. But my favorite characteristic of this restaurant, being a bigger guy, is the size of the scrumptious sandwiches- Easily the best BLT I’ve ever had, and I enjoyed it on a jalapeño and cheddar bagel!
As we sit at our two-top by the window, every guest who walks in the door is greeted as if they are long, lost relatives. Many are known by name! Some of the Flagler Track and Field Team visited for breakfast today, and we overheard Mike saying that he had been in the kitchen since 6AM, making breakfast for the Flagler Volleyball Team.
Customer service, supporting local, and sense of community is what I love to see!
As Laura and I left this morning, we even discussed how visiting Sweetwater for breakfast and coffee instantly puts us in a great mood for the rest of the day.
Visit ASAP for your instant-good-mood-guarantee 🤗

My favorite place is St. Augustine! The owners are incredibly sweet and the food is drool worthy. Huge portions and delicious options. My favorite is the Elvis bagel with bacon and the chicken salad sandwich.

Had a great experience at sweet water, the bagels were great, so many different coffee flavors and all of them super yummy!! Recommend the butter beer latte! The owner also gave us some desserts for free which made our day! Thank you so much!

I'm a huge fan of local anything when I travel and this spot ranks high for me. The space is quaint but cool. Big fan of all the local art on display, great idea. I could definitely hang here with a latte and a book. Coffees were great, breakfast items were amazing. The owner (I assume) was awesome. Friendly, accommodating, offered samples. This place is doing everything right. Check them out!

The iced latte needs zero sugar or flavor to be EPIC! Gallery of artwork throughout and beyond the cafe portion of the shop.
Service: The barista remembered me and what I'd previously ordered.
All-around impressive experience. The locals are fortunate to have this place.

Very friendly place to chill for a little bit and see some art. The regulars were nice too. Staff and owner care about what they are delivering. We were on motorcycles and stopped to get out of the rain. Really good americanos and a warm brownie. Probably will make this a regular stop. They give the right Cafe vibe when the " chains " failed.

Rode up to St Augustine to do some shopping and have dinner with a group of friends on the motorcycles. We wanted to stop somewhere for a light snack and some caffeine before we hit the shops to tide us over before dinner. This spot looked like it fit the bill, pulled up to the front of the shop on the street and backed our 6 bikes into a parking spot. Before everyone had even gotten off our bikes, the presumed owner came storming out of the shop and yelled at us apparently for being too loud as his comment was "Keep it down! I'm trying to run a business here!" and he stormed back into the shop. Everyone in the group just looked at each other and agreed, this was not a place we were going to spend our money. Terrible customer service before we even got in the door. I'm assuming this "owner" thought we weren't coming into his shop so didn't take into account he was losing business. Or he assumed bikers don't spend money. His loss. News flash, Harley riders (who buy $30K+ motorcycles) love spending money on food and drinks for local establishments who are welcoming. Ask this owners competition who we spent plenty of money at. Stay away from this place if you are a motorcycle rider. Not our people.
